This, exactly. There are so many things MaoMao could figure out if she wanted to spend another minute thinking about it, but certain knowledge can be more trouble than it's worth, so she chooses not to chase it. :-)

2025-04-18 19:49:48 +0000 UTCOn the "figuring it out" front, it can be useful to remember that back in season 1, Maomao already speculated about Jinshi possibly being related to the royal line. Back then she deliberately stopped thinking about it because, even if she could somehow know the truth, such knowledge could be actively dangerous for someone of her social standing, therefore she should just do her best to never think about it.
