Technically, this episode isn’t featured in either the light novel or manga, but they got the author to write the episode. Interpret the canonicity however you’d like. For reference, there are 2 different canons to EiS. The light novel and manga make up one, and the anime and game follow another. In general, story arcs between the two are the same but the setting differs in ways you should probably experience for yourselves.
