It's more that the OVA is referenced in this episode, and that is something they might miss if they wait too long before watching the OVA. So hopefully soon.

2024-11-07 20:51:29 +0000 UTCThey are a big deal for the anime too, but as anime only you don't really understand the importance of these two side stories (and why these two specifically were adapted while others were not) until later in the story.

2024-11-07 20:15:11 +0000 UTCI think the side stories add a lot to the novels since they are written in first-person perspective, but are less of a big deal in the anime which is less tainted by Main's perspective. Still nice to watch and great to learn about other characters, but less essential to understanding Main herself. But yeah, they probably just didn't know these OVAs were a thing.
