Another option I was thinking about for missiles and torpedoes is to limit their maneuverability. A big size 9 should be slow and fly strait, with only a small amount of maneuverability. Good for large slow capital ships, but any fighter could just maneuver out of the way unless they are stationary and not paying attention. As the missiles get smaller they get more maneuverable and make it easier to hit small fast targets. This will also make maneuvering to avoid missiles more of a skill especially if they give the missiles a small fuel load for maneuvering. Much like DCS, you make the missile maneuver too much it runs out of fuel and is defeated. It’s would make skilled piloting more of a key factor and will allow missiles to be more of a ranged weapon like they are in real life.
