Unlikely. The Sacred Gear Immunity is already a bit too powerful to make even more powerful with an upgrade. I like giving him things that make him stronger, but they usually come with some effort attached. All the new magic and stuff requires training, for example. I think it's pretty fair that he now ignores Sairaorg's ultimate move of combining with Regulus, but can't get a boost from something like Ingvild's Nereid Kyrie.

It is cool, but it is kind of a bummer that he can't benefit from Sacred Gear users, who are his allies. In the future, if he gets Ingvild Leviathan in his peerage and has become a dragon, he can't get her to boost his power with her Sacred Gear.

2024-08-30 16:30:00 +0000 UTCReally thinking about it, the immunity to Sacred Gears isn't that big of a deal. Aside from the Hero Faction, there are not many big bads who have and use Sacred Gears. Rizevim, Ophis, Great Read, Sirzechs and his whole peerage, the descendants of the original Satans, powerful yokai, the evil dragons, the list goes on. None of them Use Sacred Gears and all of them are damn powerful. The most common people we see throughout the series using Sacred Gears are the members of Rias's peerage and Vali. The others come for their Arc and then are pretty much forgotten. So, he'll be wiping the floor with the Hero Faction who are more pests than real threats, but other than that? FIGHT!

2024-08-28 13:54:11 +0000 UTCGot around to reading this now and this ending makes more sense. If Overhaul could vaporize strong DxD beings so easily there'd be no tension left in the story. Personally not sure what I think of sacred gear immunity though, seems a bit too strong imo. Since a lot of the actual threats just ended with that. Personally i'd liked Sacred Gear resistance instead. But good chapter nontheless.
