Their chemistry is on point, and Marcille looks at Falin in bed like she's her entire world. Another great thing about their relationship is that Laios doesn't have to carry all the emotional weight of the series. Both him and Marcille may have different relationships with Falin, but both value her over anyone else. Allowing two different by powerful emotional bonds build a core of the series.

It's explained in complementary material, so I'm not sure if I should go in detail about it, but basically it's a kind of misconception/myth made by tallmen because some elves weren't as nice to them as others
