I hope you're in a safe space, mentally and physically. I hope that you're able to work safely and that your boss - if you've got one - doesn't put too much pressure on you in these already complicated times.
Thank you for your support, despite my legendary inconsistency. You're great.
I got myself a hybrid camera this week to fill the gap between my big heavy oldie-but-goodie DSLR camera (5D Mark II, called Marina in reference of Marina Abramovic) and my iPhone 8 (that doesn't satisfy me when it comes to photo quality). My new baby is a Olympus Pen E PL8 and is now called Elisabet (in reference of Elisabet Ney, one of the artists I feel the most connected to for some reason. But I may talk more about this in another post eventually).
I am enjoying how easy it became to document my life on a pretty and artsy way. Thanks to Elisabet. I already love her deeply.
I went Downtown the other day, because I had to, and it was definitely a source of mixed feelings. Right in between "WOW LIFE IS SO COOL. EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL" and "WTF I'M GOING TO CATCH THE VIRUS AND EVERYBODY AROUND ME WILL DIE BECAUSE OF ME". So much drama for a person so small. It shouldn't even be allowed.
I am so privileged to not have to do this daily and I think about how to help people who don't have the choice. Sometimes, I also think about people who are even more privileged than me and start getting a tiny bit jealous. And then I remember that this is quite disrespectful towards all the people that are currently fighting for access to decent life conditions.
So I document the random things I am thankful for.
And I use this time to reconnect with myself and my surroundings.
And I hope you have this opportunity too, if that's something you've been needing.
