Ch.9 I Was Bullied So Hard I Was Isekai'ed Into A World of Sword And Magic And Emerged As The Lightning Samurai God To Hatefuck My Former Bully Until She Got Heart Eyes

— Law Greyrat —

I blocked the strike sent my way with ease even as the force of the blow traveled up my arm. The impact left a slight sting reverberating through my muscles but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. Paul knew well how to hold back.

I narrowed my eyes at Paul before deciding to put some distance between us. With a leap I jumped backwards feeling the cool air whip against my face as I thought about my next moves.

Paul stared at me with unfocused eyes and waited for me to approach. It was rather odd, Paul was usually focused when training me, yet he seemed to be rather out of it right now. It was like he was physically here but not mentally here.

If he was just going to leave himself open, then I wouldn’t hesitate to take advantage!

I rushed forward again and swung my wooden blade toward his neck. As he went to block it, I feinted the attack, making his eyes widen as I elbowed him in the stomach and spun my body around to slash at the other side of his neck.

I stopped the blade just before it hit him. And he dropped his and held up his hands in surrender. There was a faint smile at the corner of his lips, but I could see some hesitancy and sadness in his eyes.

As mad as I was at him, I didn’t actually want to unnecessarily hurt him, I was more mature than that, even if it was what he deserved.

I also could tell he felt sorry, otherwise there was no way I would have won in a fair fight.

Deep down I knew he could completely wreck me in a fight if he wanted. I was good, but I wasn’t that good, not yet at least.

He always could just break out his battle aura, then I’d be cooked.

“Good job.” Paul whispered and let out a breath, his voice was quiet, almost vulnerable.

“Thanks.” I frowned and threw my wooden sword on the ground.

I was improving quickly, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I reached Advanced Rank.

The one thing I needed to learn before that was how to use my Battle Aura. I had thought it would come to me easily like most sword techniques did, but it has taken a lot longer than I would have liked to gain a grasp on it.

The ability to say “fuck if we ball” and let your instincts take over wasn’t something I found to be too easy. I usually fought with practiced moves and well thought out attacks.

That being said, I knew I was getting closer. I had started to turn my mind off sometimes when clashing with Paul, and I felt like I was on the cusp of awakening my Battle Aura!

“Law..” Paul called just as I was about to make my way inside.

“Yeah?” I turned around and faced him.

“Can we talk?” He rubbed the back of his head and I snorted.

“No.” I shook my head, surprising him. “I don’t have anything against you, at least since you seem to have learned from your mistake. If there’s someone you should talk to, it’s Rudy.” I frowned before walking up the stairs and into the house, leaving Paul alone with my words.

I may have been more upset at him than Rudeus, but that doesn’t mean I’m the person to apologize to.

Hopefully he can see that and set things straight.

With Paul in the back of my head, I made my way upstairs and into Rudy and I’s room. He wasn’t there, instead he was in the free room reading from the plant encyclopedia that Zenith and Lilia got him, meaning I was free to chill on my own and reflect over some of the things I had planned.

There were a few things I wanted to focus on in order to maximize my potential.

The first was my swordsmanship, obviously.

My potential with the blade utterly trumps any magic potential I have, so I’m going to do my best to learn and grow as much as I can with sword techniques. The most I can grow with Paul as my teacher is around the same level as him, Advanced in all three, though I could probably push that to Saint level, but that’s assuming Paul knows Saint level techniques… which is possible, but I doubt it. If he did, he’d probably be Saint level by now.

Second is water magic. I wanted to grow more in a specific branch of magic. I had considered fire, earth, and wind, but ultimately decided against those three.

Water was incredibly slick and some of the spells fit perfectly in with my swordsmanship.

Fire would get in the way, Wind could be helpful, but Water would aid me better, and Earth would be a good call if I wanted to be more of a tank, but what I actually wanted was a balance of the two.

Which leads me to my third focus, healing magic.

With my ability to cast wordless healing magic, my potential as both a mage and swordsman have increased drastically!

I could fight on the front lines and heal myself with ease, and also heal anybody who is in my party or happens to be with me on the fly.

Such a skill would allow me to be tanky enough to take some hits without worrying about death, while still prioritizing speed and precision.

I didn’t know how far I could push my healing magic, but the further, the better. The goal at the moment was Saint Level, though I’m not sure if I can reach that here in Buena Village.

Zenith is Intermediate rank in healing magic, which is the same rank I am right now, which means unless I can get a book in higher level healing magic, I’m kind of cooked.

There’s no one else in the village that is of her level, so I may have to go somewhere else.

Likely Millis, where Mother is from. Apparently they specialize in healing magic and adopt a more religious lense when viewing the world, so I don’t actually know if they’d take me in. Chances were they wouldn’t, so I should try and find another way to get the progress I need.

I let out a sigh and leaned back on my bed. I couldn’t make progress right now. Roxy left after teaching us all the magic she knew, Zenith had already taught me up to Intermediate healing and detoxification magic, and Paul was done with training me for the day.

The only thing I still had potential for growth here in Buena Village was the sword and awakening my Battle Aura.

I closed my eyes and thought back to the final moments we had with Roxy and remembered her advice.

The Magic University.

That…could work. Since it was a Magic Institution, they would offer notes on almost all levels of Magic, and all kinds, meaning I could further both water magic and healing magic.

My swordsmanship may stall a bit, but a temporary pause to grow in two other skills wouldn’t be a bad thing, especially with how quickly I can learn sword techniques.

Yes, that’s what I’ll do!

A wide grin took over my face as I imagined all the healing and water magic I’d learn at the Magic University.

It was only a matter of time!

— Three Months Later —

“No, that’s not fair!” The chubby brown-haired boy shouted.

“Of course it is, I’m the strongest, and what I say goes. You’re it.” I crossed my arms over my lean chest with a toothy grin.

Soma and his friends looked at me with fearful expressions but I ignored their looks.

“You’re going to make it up to Sylphy for what you did, and you’re going to enjoy it!” I laughed maniacally and I watched as some of the boys cried.

Serves them right. I have no sweet spot in my heart for bullies, especially not a group of kids that were cruel enough to stone a little girl.

“Law!” Sylphy shouted as she rounded the corner with Rudy beside her. Her excited smile faltered as she caught sight of the boys. “… Why are they here?” She asked in a much softer voice.

“To apologize.” I smiled warmly at her before giving the group a cold stare.

They all immediately dropped on their hands and knees.

““““We’re so very sorry!”””” They all shouted in unison, just as I had them rehearse with promises of pain if they fucked it up.

Honestly, I wanted nothing to do with these guys, but we all live in the same village and everytime Sylphy saw them, she’d grow shy and afraid.

I’m only doing this because I want Sylphy to see that these guys aren’t worth being afraid of, because she’s better than them in every way.

And if they happen to learn a lesson about loving their neighbor and respecting one another, then that’s great.

“They want to play tag with us, you don’t mind if they join in, do you?” I asked the green-haired girl who paused at my question and eyed the group. She then turned her gaze to Rudeus, who smiled encouragingly at her.

Yeah, he helped me with this, brother of the year honestly.

“Mmm.” Sylphy nodded hesitantly and that’s all I needed.

“Then let’s play!” I grinned before tapping Soma. “Tag, you’re it.” I whispered in his ear and he got the message loud and clear. A message I drilled into his head and the heads of his friends.

He could chase Sylphy all he wanted, but he and his friends weren’t allowed to touch her.

We all ran away and began playing. While Sylphiette started off shy and nervous, her fear of the boys quickly faded as everyone actually enjoyed themselves.

Even the boys that I forced into this ended up having fun, which wasn’t my intended result, but eh, they’re doing as they’re told, so it should be fine.

Eventually, the day grew dark and it was time for all of us to go our separate ways.

Rudeus walked Sylphy home while I made my way back to the house.

Lilia was cooking up a storm, and I was tasked with helping her out.

We were having a feast tonight, though I didn't really understand why.

My fifth birthday isn’t for another five or so months, so unless someone’s coming to visit or Zenith has a bun in the oven, I have no idea why we’re having this feast.

I made my way back and entered.

“Hey.” I waved at Paul who was sitting at the table while Lilia was cooking, and Zenith was sitting on his lap. The two looked incredibly lovey dovey and have since this morning.

So… I guess I was right about the bun in the oven?

“Good evening, Law, you’re back earlier than we expected.” My mother greeted me excitedly.

“You wanted me to help Lilia with the food, remember?” I reminded, which made Zenith blink before she let out a hum.

“Oh, right, don’t worry about that anymore, Lilia is almost finished. Come, have a seat.” Zenith offered and I nodded, sitting beside the two in the seat that was usually reserved for Rudeus.

Zenith put her hand on my head and began gently running her fingers through my blonde hair.

We sat there in silence, with the exception of the firewood crackling and Zenith’s soft humming. The occasional audible kiss was shared between my two parents, but I averted my eyes from that.

Love Paul or hate him, the man had game to be able to make a beautiful woman like Zenith fall for him, especially with his… tendencies.

After ten minutes, Rudeus entered the house, just as Lilia was sharing out the food.

I got out of his seat and moved to mine as he took his spot beside our father and me.

“Glad to have you back, son.” Paul grinned.

“Glad to be back.” Rudeus returned his grin. “Today was great!”

The two had long since reconciled over the fight they had, and with their beef in the past, so was mine.

Things in our family returned back to normal, and we all continued doing what we did.

Rudeus practiced his magic, and actually occasionally picked up the sword again, while Paul and I locked in on furthering my swordsmanship.

Paul actually mentioned that he had grown considerably stronger since he started training me, because he could no longer half ass sparring me.

“What do you say we eat!” Paul raised his mug and all of us cheered.

Call me a fatass, but I loved every feast we had!

We started munching down food, all the while, I eyed Zenith a bit as she ate slowly. I could practically see the woman bubbling in excitement.

She clearly had news to tell us, but for some reason she was waiting.

Eventually we tore through several plates of food and had our fill, and only then did Zenith stand up with a bubbling smile.

“Rudy, Law, I have great news!” She announced before wrapping her arms around Paul. He happily grabbed her waist and pulled her into his lap. “I’m pregnant!”

Both Rudeus and I shared “surprised” looks and as we did, I quickly realized that he already speculated she was pregnant.

Guess it wasn’t a surprise to either of us.

““Wow that’s great!”” Both of us cheered at the same time and clapped for our mother.

Like fucking clockwork. Hell, we may have known, but that doesn’t mean we’d steal this moment from Zenith. She and Paul deserved that much at least.

Zenith puffed her chest, looking incredibly proud of herself as she smiled brightly at us.

“I knew you boys would be excited!” Zenith pushed herself up from Paul’s lap and wrapped both of us in a hug, each of our heads got squished in one of her breasts. “I know you’ll be the two greatest older brothers a child could ask for!”

Zenith held us for a few more seconds before giving us both a kiss on the cheek and returning to her seat.

The family engaged in chatter about the little one that would soon join our table. We asked if they had chosen a name yet, and they said they didn’t have any names planned for either gender, which got Rudeus and I thinking. We were shut down though by Paul who told us we could go make our own child if we wanted to name one, but I don’t think he understands how physical maturity works.

Our balls haven’t dropped, and thus, no potential for kids yet.

Thank the Gods for that honestly, I feared what my teenage years would do to me. Years where my hormones were screaming and beautiful women flocked to me, I’d end up truly becoming Paul’s son!

“Excuse me.” Lilia spoke, earning our attention. All of us looked at the maid with smiles as she bowed her head. “I regret to inform you all that I am pregnant.”

“…”

“…”

“…”

“…”

All four of us went deathly silent at the maid’s words.

Lilia tended to do errands outside of the house, but she would never leave at night, and we usually see her back in the house no longer than half an hour after she left.

… Which means.

All heads turned to Paul as Lilia kept hers lowered.

There's… no fucking way, right?!

“I’m sorry, it’s probably mine!” Paul slammed his hands on the table and lowered his head.

Holy shit!

Both Rudy and I’s mouths were wide open, sheer shock on our faces as we turned to look at our mother, whose face was completely blank.

She stood up and took a step closer to Paul. Her blue eyes that I had come to love seeing everyday were no longer filled with their normal warmth, and instead were cold, colder than the coldest of winters.

Zenith brought her hand back and slapped Paul, the noise echoed through the whole house and made everyone wince at the pain she delivered the man.

Without a single word, Zenith walked away, leaving the entire table in stunned silence.

Rudeus and I looked at one another with wide eyes, then back to Paul who was rubbing his reddened cheek, and in that moment, I realized something that I would carry with me for the rest of my life.

It only takes a second, a single moment in time, for everything to fuck up.

— Zenith Greyrat —

Her entire world was cold, and she had not even the slightest idea of what to say.

As she returned to her room, she laid on the bed and the moment she did, her tears rained down.

She knew the kind of man Paul was, and she had still fallen in love with him, even after many people had told her not to. She had thought that she could change him, that she could help him see that she was enough—but she was wrong.

Paul had not only betrayed her, but gotten her best friend pregnant with his child.

What was she to do now?!

Zenith didn’t know, and she couldn’t care less.

All she wanted to do right here at this moment, was let her pain leave her body through floods of tears.

— Lilia (The Next Day) —

She had messed up, Lilia realized that the moment she found out she was pregnant, but more so yesterday, and now more than ever.

Lilia sat across from Zenith, the blonde-haired woman wasn’t even looking at her, which made Lilia’s heart hurt even more, but she knew she didn’t have the right to feel like a victim.

She had done this. She had gone out of her way and willingly seduced Paul, and when she succeeded, she reveled in his touch.

Lilia let him do as he pleased with her body, to satisfy an itch she had not had scratched since Paul had fallen in love with Zenith.

Hearing the two have sex night after night for over five years was hellish, and recently, it had become unbearable.

She acted, and now she was left with regret.

“You can’t stay here.” Zenith announced, suddenly, and Lilia bowed her head low as she tried not to tear up.

She heard gasps come from the side of the room where Paul, Rudeus, and Law were watching, but she cast them out of her head and focused on her sorrow.

“I… understand, Lady Zenith.” Lilia answered professionally. With all she had done, staying professional was the least she could do to try and bring Zenith some solace.

“Where will you go?” Zenith asked, still not looking up from her hands.

Lilia frowned. “I… suppose I will travel back home.”

“That’s a month’s ride, winter’s here, you’ll freeze to death.” Zenith clenched her fists as her hair cast a dark shadow over her face.

“… I’m afraid I have nowhere else to go.” Lilia lowered her head a bit more as she touched her belly.

A pregnant woman traveling through the rough winter alone wouldn’t last, and Lilia knew that much, and she was sure everyone else in the room knew as well.

“Zenith…” Paul spoke up nervously, “don't you think that's-”

“You shut your mouth!” Zenith shouted, thoroughly killing Paul’s attempts at trying to calm his wife.

The room went silent, and even when the darkness surrounding Zenith, Lilia could see that the blonde-haired woman was genuinely conflicted.

Lilia had grown close to Zenith in the time she has been a maid for the two, and she could see that the Greyrat Matriarch didn’t want to kick her out, but felt as if she had due to Lilia and Paul’s betrayal—and Lilia didn’t blame her for that.

Zenith had every right to send Lilia and her unborn child to their deaths.

A long silence passed before suddenly Lilia watched as Rudeus walked over to Zenith and tugged on her skirt.

“Mother, why is everyone so gloomy?” Rudeus asked with an innocent tilt of his head.

“Because your Father and Lilia did something very bad.” Zenith answered with anger in her tone.

“But isn’t Lilia pregnant with my little brother or sister, how is that a bad thing?” Rudeus frowned.

“They went behind my back and betrayed me, Rudy, go stand by your father.”

Rudeus paused and frowned before looking over at Law and Paul.

Lilia’s eye caught Law who gave her a quick salute and moved forward.

“Mother, you and Lilia are friends, aren’t you?” Law asked.

“I thought we were…” Zenith spoke out with a tearful voice, which broke Lilia’s heart.

“But you are.” Law waddled over, looking overly childish as he pulled on his mother’s skirt. “So why can’t Lilia stay?”

“I already told your brother, she and your father did something very bad.”

“But my little sibling didn’t!” Law shook his head, “and neither did Lilia!”

Zenith, for the first time today, showed her face. Red eyes from crying locked onto Law’s face.

“W-What do you mean?”

“Let me.” Rudeus stepped in front of Law who easily took a step back. Rudeus cleared his throat and pointed at Paul. “It was father’s fault!”

“What?!”

“You be quiet!” Zenith shouted at Paul, shutting him up. “Go on Rudy.”

“I remember hearing Father saying weird things like “spread your legs and you won’t have to leave” in Lilia’s room!”

“Rudy, what are you-”

“I said shut up!” Zenith shouted again before her head snapped to Lilia.

“Lilia, is this true?” Zenith asked with desperate eyes.

“No, My Lady, I believe the Young Lord may be confused.”

“Nuh-uh!” Law shouted and pointed an accusatory finger at Paul. “I heard Father tell Lilia that if you ever found out about his “fun time”, Lilia would be kicked out!”

“Lilia… I see, it makes sense why you wouldn’t tell me the truth.” Zenith nodded, seeming to grasp the full story, only she hadn’t. She was being misled by her children, as she had been for their entire lives.

“If anyone should take the blame it’s Father!” Law drove the final nail into Paul’s coffin and nodded smugly.

“Mother, if Lilia is pregnant with Father’s child, then that child will be our sibling, we don't want to lose family, and we don’t want to lose Lilia!” Rudeus finished with a tear.

Zenith fell for their act and swept the two boys in a tight hug like she always does.

Both Law and Rudeus gave Lilia smug smiles and thumbs up while their mother was busy hugging them.

… These children.

“Very well, Rudeus, Law, you’ve convinced me.” Zenith gave both boys a kiss on the forehead before standing up and addressing Lilia. “Lilia, you will be allowed to stay.”

Lilia’s eyes widened as she looked into Zenith’s apologetic blue eyes. Involuntary tears spewed from her purple orbs and she bowed her head in thanks.

Zenith smiled and walked over to where Paul was standing.

“We. Will. Talk. Later.” Zenith promised before waking away and up the stairs.

As she disappeared upstairs, Law and Rudeus clasped hands with one another and embraced. Bright grins plastered on their faces.

They had completely deceived their mother, and directed her wrath toward their father.

Lilia looked at the two boys with teary eyes and realized that they had done all of that just to save her. A sexually frustrated maid that didn’t like either of them.

It made Lilia feel disgusted with herself, but also a great sense of relief.

She was indebted to them, and she would never be able to repay that debt.

Lilia ran her hand down her belly and smiled with teary eyes.

She would give birth to a strong child, and she would swear both her life, and the life of her child to Rudeus and Law.

It was the least she could do.

Poor Paul is gonna sleep on the floor or couch for a while, lol. Not to say he doesn't deserve it considering his past with Lilia.
