Crackhead Determination Ch.9

So I couldn’t use God mode. Yes, I tried.

My wish for perfect ki was supposed to make such a thing possible. By sucking the ki into myself, I was supposed to assume a new form entirely.

The problem was that I needed to be stronger.

My body wasn’t strong enough to transform into a form capable of withholding the power of a God.

Much like how Goku got skinnier when he became a Super Saiyan God, my body should transform into something that could hold the concentrated god ki within my body, but I wasn’t quite on the level to access a form like that. The moment I tried, my body screamed to release the ki back out and let it leak.

So I did, and I gave up.

…For now.

I had years I’d be able to use it properly, and even longer for when I needed to use it. Until Beerus showed up on Earth looking for a Super Saiyan God in about twenty-five years give or take.

Plus by then, I’d have everything I need to use god ki and ascend to godhood.

Yes, ascend. Not just a mortal using divine ki, but instead, actually diving into the realm of godhood!

From what I’ve learned with my genetic manipulation, I could take on traits of things I understood from creatures/life forms I understood.

So who’s to say I couldn’t just study a kai and make myself one?

I’m sure Shin would be all for it as well. As far as I know, there aren’t many other Kais in Universe Seven, and once we’ve dealt with Buu, he’ll owe me. By then my genetic manipulation should be on the level of individual cells, at least, and then I’d be able to modify each of my cells to hold the traits of several races.

I could make myself part Saiyan, Kai, Biomechanical Android, and Arcosian. Hell, I could even go and ask Whis for a skin sample and study it to add angel genetics into the mix!

The possibilities were endless, the limits lay in my creativity, and I had a wormhole of ideas that I wanted to test!

“You look like you’re in a good mood.” Mr. Popo smiled as he stood beside my meditating form.

“I am.” I smiled warmly at the turban-wearing man. “Just thinking of the future.”

“The future is a wondrous thing, but we should focus on today, the present, after all, if you look where you want to go, and not where you are, you’ll end up stumbling into something.”

Mr. Popo, ever the buzz kill. Though his words had merit and I appreciated him for that. The man was older than Kami, and perhaps as old as the Earth itself, in his mind held great wisdom, even if he wasn’t that powerful.

…At least I think. Mr Popo didn’t have a ki signature, at least not one I could sense, and I wondered if he was some sort of God or Kai who had access to God ki.

I was thankful to all the gods above that he wasn’t abridged Popo, but there was a chance he may be as strong as him.

That thought kept me up at night, I’ll admit that much.

“Lyre!” An excitable girl shouted from the building. I could hear her running footsteps towards our location at the edge of the Lookout and I opened my eyes to see Goki peeking over my shoulder with a goofy grin. “Good morning! Today’s a new day, let’s spar!

I let out a sigh. This girl wanted to spar every day, and while I respected her hustle and dedication, I didn’t want to fight her every time she asked.

At least not until she was stronger, things would get interesting then.

“Pass.”

The Saiyan girl pouted at me letting out a deep exhale and sitting down beside me.

“Why do you even do this meditation thing?”

“Cause it helps me reach into myself.” I frowned, trying to concentrate but being distracted by the excitable girl.

“What does that mean?”

“It helps me get stronger.”

“But you’re not training…”

I let out a deep exhale through my nose and looked at her. I felt bad as I looked at her genuinely curious face.

“It trains my mind, Goki. I do this because it gives me better control over my magic and abilities.” I explained. That was a summary of the benefits of meditation. Usually, it increased ki control as well, but considering I wished for perfect mastery, that’s a moot point.

“Oh, I get it.” She hummed, brighteneing up. “You do it so you can use magic like Kami!”

“Yes, Goki.” I relented.

She looked incredibly proud of herself. Looking at her adorable face cleared up any irritation I had for her earlier as I returned to my meditation.

The Namekian Book of Legends was rather informative about the different arts of magic. Mainly elemental manipulation, but it also included other kinds of magic. The one I found most interesting was time magic.

Time magic allowed someone to alter time in a targetted space, kind of like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is a dimension procured by spatial magic, which is also mentioned in the book, where time magic is applied throughout its entirety.

How the time chamber is empowered by this magic, I have no idea…

However, what I do know is that if I continue to meditate and increase the amount of mana I have and my ability to use magic, I’ll be able to make my own Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

And that’s a lesser for wanting to learn such magic.

I could stop time, rewind time, or even fast forward myself through time if I wished, and it wouldn’t work on multiverse theory, instead sending me into the future/past of this Multiverse.

That’s without even mentioning its combat applications. Stopping time in the middle of a fight, or even peering a couple of seconds into the future to read attacks ahead of time…such a thing could save my life one day.

I wouldn’t make the mistake of casting such powerful magics away.

We sat in silence, I heard Mr. Popo walk off, most likely to be by Kami’s side.

“Lyre?”

I cracked an eye open looking at the unusually quiet girl. “Yes, Goki?”

“Recently I’ve been feeling weird, I wanted to ask you about it.”

Feeling weird huh? Does this have anything to do with her touching herself last night? Cause that was pretty unusual for her.

“Weird how?”

She got up and started pacing back and forth with her arms thrown behind her head calmly. Her face was scrunched up as if she was thinking hard about something.

“I don’t know, there’s a tight feeling in my chest, but it also feels warm and fuzzy, like the back of a bear. Also whenever I feel like that and touch down here-” She patted between her legs. “It feels good.”

Ah, so I had to have that talk with her. Goki had just turned eighteen a little over a month ago, so why was I the one who had to do this with her?

“Well, I’m not too sure. I’m not in your head after all.” I frowned. I wanted to deflect this talk for as long as I could, or even better, just pass it off to Kami. Sure I wanted to make Goki my woman sometime in the future, but I’d be damned if I had to explain the birds and the bees to an eighteen-year-old.

“Oh.” She deflated before suddenly perking up. “Wait! Kami read my mind once, can’t you do that?”

Shit.

“I can.” I grit out. Mind reading was a basic magic, one of the first dragon clan kids learned because it helped us understand our brothers intentions without ever having to speak.

“Then do me!”

Phrasing.

I let out a sigh as I got up. “Alright.” I placed a hand on the shorter girl’s messy hair and attempted to enter her mind. There wasn’t even a concept of protection over her mind, hell I just walked in. Normally I would think that she just let me in, but even if someone were to let me in, there would still be a barrier of sorts around the open gap. Like an open gate on a fence.

We’d need to work on that.

I let my mind flow deeper into hers until I reached her memories. I dived deeper, only around a week or so and everything played out to me.

I heard her thoughts, felt her feelings, and her exertion when training. I took my hand off of her and I looked at her with genuine surprise.

“Goki, you’re one straightforward girl.” I smiled warmly.

“Thanks!”

I guess she’s just taking the compliment.

“To provide you with an answer, there’s nothing weird about how you’ve been feeling. You’re a teenage girl who has a crush on a guy who shares the same passions as you. You feel good touching…down there-” I pointed at said place, “-because your body is telling you to mate with the boy you like.”

“Crush, like? I crush rocks during training, and I like a bunch of people, Bulma, Krillin, Master Roshi…” She continued to name all of them and I was content to let her while I thought about my response. “With you…it’s different, it’s more.” She scratched her head in confusion.

“What I meant by crush is someone you like on a romantic level. By romantic I mean someone you want to be around every day, someone you want to settle down and live with, someone you want to start a family with.

“Oh.” She blinked, looking down to think about my words before giving a little nod. “That makes more sense. You said something else earlier…“Mate?”

“Ask Kami.”

Goki hummed in thought for a moment before nodding with determination. “Okay, I’ll be back, Lyre!”

God save his soul…or should I say, Kami, save his soul?

Eh, he’s god, plus I got him some time off his job, and he’ll figure it out.

Speaking of job…I took a peak down onto Earth once more and grinned as I saw my target fighting a group of dinosaurs, killing them with ease.

I look forward to meeting you, Piccolo Jr.

— Kami —

He sat down with a smile on his face. It had been years since he was able to just relax in his comfortable home. Over three hundred years, that’s how long he’s spent as the Guardian of Earth. Having to look over the people of Earth and ensure there were no great threats, producing rain when there were droughts, and stepping down when a major threat arose.

Today, was his first break in all that time.

Lyre was meditating, but to build focus, he was also watching over the Earth, keeping an eye on the various settlements the Earthlings had formed, and above all that, keeping a close eye on Piccolo Jr.

Kami took a sip of the ice-cold water Mr. Popo had brought him. It tasted divine, perfect for a god on a little vacation. Nothing could ruin his break, he was sure of-

“Kami!”

Dear him he spoke too soon. “Goki.” He said genially, placing down his cup of water and outstretching his arms. “What can I do for you?”

“Kami, what’s a mate?”

Kami’s eyes widened out of their sockets. Why in King Yemma’s name was Goki asking him about that?

He focused his consciousness outside his home to the edge of his Lookout until he saw his green-haired pupil. Lyre sensed his consciousness and turned around. Kami’s hand gripped around the armrest so tight that it snapped.

The little bastard was smirking at him.

“Good luck with that,” Lyre said, using his magic to push Kami’s consciousness back into his body.

A tick mark formed on Kami’s forehead. Revenge is a dish best-served cold, and Lyre will rue the day he toyed with God.

His judgment would be firm.
