Crackhead Determination Ch.7
Added 2024-01-06 01:01:55 +0000 UTC“Hm, the Ultra Divine Water huh?” Korin questioned, stroking his chin fur. I nodded in response. “Well, I can give it to you, but there’s a high chance you’ll die.”
“Well, I don’t want to die, but I really want that water.”
“Hey, I’m just tellin' ya how it is. Don’t go getting mad at me when you take a sip and drop dead.”
“Fair.” I shrugged, and the cat led me to a fountain in the middle of his tower. He picked up a pitcher and dumped it into the water, then poured the contents into a cup.
“Here ya are, don’t go dying.”
This cat is nice, I think I’ll get him a gift later. After all, if I live through this, I should get a great deal stronger.
If I die…I can try and convince King Yemma not only to let me keep my body, but let me train with King Kai early, and I’m sure Kami would wish me back.
“Well, bottoms up!” I chugged the whole glass down with massive gulps and placed the glass down.
I waited a moment. Then another moment, then another-
And felt nothing
“Hey Korin, I think you gave me the wrong-”
Ah, there it is.
Pain, pain worse than I had ever felt in my life started budding in my chest. The pain was a constant pulsation of agony. For a moment I considered driving a ki blade through my head to end my misery!
“He gonna be alright?” Yajirobe asked, walking forward and poking me with the blade of his sword as I writhed on the ground, my bloodshot eyes stared up at him.
“He might be…maybe.”
“If he dies, mind if I eat him?”
“I doubt Kami would approve of that.” Korin shook his head
I’ma kill 'em! That fucking fat bastard is dead!
The pain continued to persist until I got lucky and the intense pain forced my brain to shut down.
— Later —
I shot up, my eyes scanning my surroundings as I jumped up into a fighting stance.
A year of training with Nail and waking up only to get a ki blast to the face had more or less left a deep trauma over my existence. No longer could I wake up soundly, and with the beating pain still teetering in my chest, I was on edge, and in my mind, rightfully so.
“Ah, you’re awake.”
I snapped my body towards the form of Korin as he walked down the steps of his tower. He let out a tired yawn, Yajirobe, the fucking bastard, following behind him.
“Surprised you lived, congrats on that. You’re the second person to survive. First was Goki.”
“I see.” I stared at my hands before clenching them into fists. Even with the mind-numbing pain I still felt, more than that I reveled in the power that coursed through my veins. I was strong, stronger than I had ever been in my life, and this was just the beginning. “The water worked wonders, thanks.”
“Yeah, it tends to do that. You were insanely strong before, but now you’re on another level.” Korin complimented, I think. He seemed either really tired or really bored, I couldn’t quite pinpoint which it was.
“Thank you.” I grinned. I admit, having Korin, one of the strongest people on the planet at this point, praising my strength was quite the confidence builder, even if he was weak in the grand scheme of the multiverse. “I must take my leave, but I’ll be sure to remember you.” Then my eyes shot over to the fuck. “If I see you again, I’ll fillet your skin and feed it to Piccolo.”
“Eee!”
“Guess ya feared for a good reason Yajirobe. Seems he heard ya.” Korin snorted. Yajirobe, fearing Korin’s words and my wrath, ran up the stairs. Run you ugly fuck. Run with those chubby little legs.
“Well, see ya.” Korin waved with his staff before walking in the direction of Yajirobe.
I jumped off the tower and extended my senses. I have a rough location of where Kame House was, thanks to Kami, but instead of following the coordinates in my mind, I’d rather have the power to track there.
I sensed two, I assumed one was Master Roshi, and hoped the other one was Yamcha.
After that Yajirobe nonsense, I needed something to laugh at.
— Later —
It didn’t take longer than five minutes to reach Kame House. The only reason it took that long was because I was enjoying the sights of Earth. It was an incredible planet, and though it wasn’t the one I remembered, it didn’t lack any of the original’s beauty.
I touched down, feeling the two power levels shifting around inside.
Oh, wait no there were three. One was just so small I didn’t notice it.
Please tell me that’s Yamcha!
The door opened and out walked Krillin. He looked on edge, and behind him walked Roshi and a girl with blue hair. I gave the bald men and the girl a grin and a wave.
“Howdy strangers, I’m Lyre.”
“Roshi, this is my student Krillin, and my sexy lady friend Launch.” Roshi introduced himself and the other two with a calm and joking temperament.
A show he was playing on the exterior. I could tell on the inside they were worried by my presence, but they shouldn’t be. They must have sensed me up on the Lookout for the past three months, after all, right? Well, time to calm them down.
“Nice to meet the Master himself, and you as well Launch. I’ve heard a great deal about you from Goki.”
They perked up at that.
“You know Goki?” Launch asked, her body hiding behind Roshi.
“I do, we’ve spent the last three months training together up on Kami’s Lookout. She’s spoken about you on more than one occasion.” I explained, and I wasn’t even lying. Whenever Goki would study with me, she’d try and escape her studies by talking, and with her talking so much, she explained the entirety of the dragon ball plot to this point in her life with a great many changes.
Apparently, Chi-Chi is a martial artist who trained under Roshi…go figure. Guess that means she may be useful in the future. Who knows? Too soon to tell.
“Wow, that’s amazing!” Krillin spoke up stepping forward. “Did she say anything about me?”
I stared down at the short bald man for a few moments and rubbed the back of my head. “Yeah, you’re Yamcha right?”
The air left Krillin’s lungs as he fell into a coughing fit. Critical hit, being mistaken for Yamcha must hurt, and we aren’t even in Z yet.
“No, I’m Krillin.” He clarified after clearing his throat.
“Uh…”
“Are you serious?!” Krillin asked, his face surprised and betrayed.
I was fucking with him, but it made me feel better after the Yajirobe fiasco. Maybe I went too far.
“Nah, I’m joking, she’s spoken a lot about you. How you and she trained together since you were kids, and how much time you’ve spent working together. Fighting in the World Martial Arts Tournaments, and how she avenged you by defeating King Piccolo.”
That last bit Goki told me recently. I was happy when she did, it meant she was opening up to me.
“Oh, good, you had me worried there for a second!” Krillin scratched his cheek with a nervous smile.
“Well, I assume you came here for more than just a meet and greet.” Roshi stepped forward, both hands behind his back.
“You’re right, Turtle Hermit, I wish to learn martial arts, more specifically your Kamehameha. If you other combat techniques to teach me, i’d be grateful for that as well.”
“A simple wish, but do you have anything to give me? Preferably a night with a pretty woman?”
“I don’t even know any women besides Goki.” I shrugged. “I just came to the planet three months ago, and since then this is the first time I’ve left.”
“That’s a sha-”
“You said you came to the planet?!” Krillin asked, surprise on both his and Launch’s faces while Roshi still looked upset about not getting a date.
“I did, did you think Earth was the only planet with living beings?” I raised an eyebrow. Their looks told me that that’s exactly what they thought. It was such a narrow minded way of looking at existence. If there’s life here, and you know theres other planets and other universe, why would life not be somewhere else, even if it’s incredibly far away.
“So, can I just pay you back later, Roshi? I have a girl in mind, but it may take a while before that woman is available.”
“What are you waiting for, let’s get started!”
— Later —
“Lyre!” Goki called as I landed back on the Lookout.
“Hey, Goki. Miss me?”
“Yeah! I’ve been waiting to fight all day!”
Of course, she was.
It was nighttime now, but I learned a great deal from the old master and more than that…
I fired my first Kamehameha!
The thing of dreams that every child wishes they could do, I did it, and I made sure it was massive.
Almost fucked up and blew up the planet, I was like a kid playing with fire.
Someone or something had to get burned. Luckily, instead of a someone, it was a something as I destroyed a neighboring island.
No one was on it…I think.
Let’s hope.
“Ready?” Goki dropped into her stance and I put my hands behind my back. “Begin!” She rushed, launching punches at my face that I ate for breakfast. She switched her target, punching my chest, then my stomach, but again, I ate those. I reared my head back, and just as Goki was going to dodge, I slammed my head against hers.
She clutched her head, but this time there was no nasty bruise. I didn’t hit her that hard, and after three months of sparring with her, I’ve learned to hold back.
“Looks like I win.”
“Argh, I’ll win next time.” She said the same thing a month ago.
I knew she wouldn’t be winning next time, but I knew it was only a matter of time before she managed to catch up to my strength.
A long time sure, but time nonetheless.
I outstretched my hand, Goki looked at it before smiling and grasping it. “I need to talk to Kami alone, so I’ll see you tomorrow alright, Goki.” After pulling her up from the ground, I ran my hand through her hair, enjoying the confused look in her eyes and the pink in her cheeks.
“O-Okay, goodnight, Lyre.”
I walked around to the back half of the Lookout while Goki went inside the building. I could sense Kami back there, so I approached slowly. Upon turning the corner I saw him standing alone.
“You wanted to talk,” Kami said and I wasn’t surprised he heard us. Namekians have great hearing. “Say what you wish.”
I took a breath because I didn’t know if this was a thing any mortal could just ask. Even if I knew how to enter the domain of the gods, I didn’t know if there were restrictions.
“I want to access God ki.”

Author’s Note: I don’t have a problem with Yajirobe, but I can tell he’d be fucking annoying to be around in DB. Especially with his feelings towards eating anything that’s not human. The Ultra Divine Water was just something for a quick power boost, cause why not.
The main reason why I haven’t delved into God ki yet is because I needed a way to equalize it this early on. I feel like since Kami is a god, it’s not crazy to believe that he possesses some level of God ki, even if he’s not able to access it for long, and I’m going with that, otherwise, why call him God? Lyre has access to it but will grow fatigued if he uses it at his current level of power.
Comments
The point I was trying to make is it's not really worth the small power up. As it only increased Goku's power level by 30 points.
