I know this is a few months old and I don't know if you've been told this, but it's really funny that you compared this to Slime. You see the authors of Slime and Tsukimichi are IRL friends. Tsukimichi was written first and the creator of slime took elements from Tsukimichi and then added them and expanded upon them in Slime. It's something you probably noticed as the series progressed that there was a lot of similarities between the two. Slime took off and was written and developed faster than Tsukimichi. You can actually see in the later writing of the Tsukimichi story that the roles flipped and that the author started taking elements from Slime and incorporating them into their own work.
