Tatsuya is NOT Taurus Silver, or more to the point, he isn't the only Taurus Silver. He is just one half of Taurus Silver, Mr. Silver. The department head, Mr. Taurus is the other half. Tatsuya specializes in advanced software, whereas Mr. Taurus specializes in advanced hardware. Tatsuya is gifted, but hardware really isn't his thing. Fortunately, he's got a friend who compliments his genius, with a matching technical expertise.

At the very least wait until the end of the school competition arc before explaining this. Also there are two things that I would like to clarify for you just in case you misunderstood them. Here is the SPOILER WARNING for Neil and the others who have not watched the anime. SPOILER WARNING>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> So the first thing is that the one and only strong emotion/passion left to him intentionally by his mother was his overwhelming brotherly love for his sister Miyuki. There are several instances throughout the anime where he clearly shows that he intends to take on and betray the Yotsuba family once he is confident that he is powerful enough and that both Miyuki and himself are capable of weathering the fallout that such a confrontation would generate. This gets explained by him and Fujibayashi during his slaughter of No Head Dragon at the end of the upcoming arc. The second thing is something that you may understand and just did not go into detail with your comment. His mother did not erase that part of his mind, she repurposed/restructured it into another magic calculation region in Tatsuya's conscious mind so that he would be able to use modern magics. The magic calculation area that he was born with is fully dedicated to his specialized magic (decomposition and regrowth) which is why he says he was born unable to use magic in earlier episodes. The experiment was considered a failure because the created magic calculation area was greatly inferior to the ones most magicians are born with, which is why he is so bad with the practical skills the school uses as measurement. The fact that this area exists in his conscious mind as opposed to his unconscious mind is a major contributor to his ability to flash cast, read magic sequences while they are being built, and peer into the information dimension/read the eidos change log. 2023-10-20 14:10:18 +0000 UTCThey are generally 16-18 depending on what year they are in, 3rd years like Mayumi and Jumonji are 18, the first years like Tatsuya and Miyuki are 16. There is a hint towards what happened to Tasuya in the novels that was cut out in the anime, simply a continuation of him claiming to not posses a heart capable of holding a grudge, whether or not you are interested in reading it is naturally up to you. Tatsuya’s mind no longer had the ability to hate. Fierce anger, strong sadness, powerful jealousy, grudge, hatred, excessive want of food, excessive sexual desire, the desire to sleep in excess…and feelings of romantic love. He would never lose himself in anger. He would never suffer heartache. He would never burn with envy. He neither bore grudges nor felt hatred. He would never have his heart stolen by the opposite sex. He felt the need to eat, but never in excess. He felt sexual desires, but never reveled in them. He felt the need to sleep, but never to lounge in inactivity. The part of him containing the strongest emotions and desires had been erased from his mind via a special magic that only his mother out of everyone else in the world had the ability to perform. He didn’t hate his mother. He wasn’t angry at her, either. He couldn’t really get angry at her, and he couldn’t really bear a grudge toward her. The one and only strong emotion left to him was a passion purposely excluded: to abide by the will of the Yotsuba clan to which he had been assigned. Not, of course, out of familial attachment to his father.
