As someone who hates DB Super, this really worked well for me. I know you said you haven't watched GT, but you should. For years I knew I liked it less than both DB and DBZ, but it wasn't until I tried to watch Super and bailed around episode 115ish that I understood that GT just wasn't as good as the others. By no means was it bad. It really is worth watching.
