2022-08-06 22:52:32 +0000 UTCThere is like... two fights that Ken fights in which he was barely on par with his opponents. Vs Shikai Hollow Ichigo and Nnoitra. There are two fights in which he was stronger than his opponents by a good margin. Vs Tosen and Yammy. So Kenpachi doesn't always fight with same strength as his opponents. I know he is restricting himself unconsciously but it isn't a measured restriction. He just happened to be on par with Ichigo and Nnoitra. Imo. Ken didn't train after Ichigo, more like his limiters were loosened a bit after the fight so that's why he was stronger in Hueco Mundo. If what you say is true (that ken can automatically get as strong as his opponent every time) then he wouldn't have had issues with Unohana.

I also love his quote toward his death in games whether I have trolls or further ahead in mmo's in gear. I'll show no mercy. I personally compare Nnoitora to Shunsui Kyōraku fighting style they both are always going for the kill never displaying any mercy even though Shunsui doesn't enjoy fighting he is always going for the kill.

He's a horrible, sexist monster, but he's a monster fueled by a crippling inferiority complex born from people constantly pitying him. An argument can even be made that Nel herself is partially responsible for shaping Nnoitora into the monster he is since she was also talking down to him and telling him he was weak. Obviously this doesn't excuse his terrible actions or the fact that he was an asshole from the start, but he's a much more complex character than people give him credit for. He's not just an Arrancar version of Kenpachi, he's a bitter, wounded person that covers up his insecurities with a vile exterior. The short flashbacks we get really show us how crippling his inferiority complex is and how his despair has driven him to long for death in battle.

2022-05-22 03:02:16 +0000 UTCWho thinks Kenpachi was weaker than Byakuya in Soul Society arc? Weren't they kind of equals? I remember Yoruichi saying to Ichigo that the mask saved him. Without it he would have been cut in half. So Shikai Ichigo wasn't enough for Full Power Kenpachi. Shikai Ichigo also wasn't enough for Bankai Byakuya. So isn't it similar? Bankai Ichigo was overkill for Byakuya. Ichigo only had trouble and took hits when he got slower. Much slower, because he couldn't sustain his bankai's power. His hollow side helped then. And in the final clash it was clear that Ichigo's bankai obliterated Byakuya's so it was much superior. In short Full power Kenpachi > Shikai Ichigo Bankai Byakuya > Shikai Ichigo Bankai Ichigo shits on both if it lasts.
