2021-04-02 12:50:32 +0000 UTCOrochimaru (or rather Second Hokage reanimation) works on different basis than Chiyo reanimation - the best way to describe it, is that he revives his target as undead servants, bound to his will, but he still need to sacrifice lives, but instead uses other people. In Leaf invasion he used genins from his village, and when talking to Tsunade he ask to prepare two sacrifices for the jutsu.

2021-04-02 09:27:30 +0000 UTCI just looked up about the reanimation jutsu. It is different from the 'reincarnation jutsu' or bringing people back to life jutsu that Granny did. Based on what I found online, it is explained how Orochimaru does the reanimation jutsu, but it won't be explained until later in Naruto Shippuden. As a hint, other new characters are involved, but I won't say who because that would be major spoilers. This arc is a good start to Shippuden. The next arcs will just get better.
