The Conjuring series is great. And there's a rare treat with Conjuring 2 in that it is arguably as good or better than the first one. It certainly has some great scenes if you pick them out individually.

2025-09-04 13:35:26 +0000 UTCI love me a good, honest Scary Movie, one whose sole purpose is to scare you witless. James Wan knew what he wanted to accomplish with this movie and he does so in fine style. My only criticism is one that I have with a lot of these movies: The need to escalate at the end, the whole thing becomes less dread and more action. (I felt the same way with Poltergeist.) Still a very effective and entertaining haunted house movie though.
