We Aren't In Twin Peaks Anymore - The Return Episode 1

as this episode, my video is dedicated to the log lady 🪵❤️
definitely some different vibes in the return, but I am here for whatever is happening - still figuring out what is before my eyes
It is really interesting to re-watch the start of this after seeing Picnic at Hanging Rock. Edith as a school girl screaming as she runs down the mountain from the rock and the high school girl screaming in the school yard in Twin Peaks High School at the 3 minute 40 mark of the video are like the same thing in different movies.

most don't have anything cut out, sometimes there may be a moment skipped if I pause and play because when I line it up I cut out a few seconds to makes sure the time is right.

This looks good! I did a test and found that I can perfectly sync my Apple TV copy of the show with your reaction. That means you didn't cut anything out, and I can watch the show on my big TV while watching your reaction on my iPad.
Looking forward to more!

You are the FIRST person whom I've ever joined for Patreon! I'm foreign to this scene. Don't worry. These three seasons hold more than most shows do in 8. And you'll get so many news things from each time you watch through it!
You get the show! You get David Lynch! I'll have to check to see if you've watched The Elephant Man, because that movie shows a VERY different side to the man.
And how perfect a casting was Matthew Lillard!? He's more than quirky enough for Twin Peaks, no?
And Old Friend of the Christie's.

The first time I watched this episode it felt like there was hardly anything happening, watching it now there’s so much stuff going on already.

yes I just watched episode 3 and it was very slow - since I am a fan of lynch and twin peaks in general, I was soaking in everything because I know the style and trying to find meaning but I agree the attention spans these days could never 😂

I love how Dale Cooper was such an endearing, switched on and cheerful character in Twin Peaks but his shadow self is cold hearted, emotionless and has no light at all to his character in The Return. They nailed it with how they portray Mr C in this. The jarring introduction to him in part one of this movie straight after we see the lovable Lucy is brilliantly done as contrast of light and darkness.

RIP Catherine E. Coulson, her scene was shot very early on, and she died before most of the series was even filmed. She was a very early compatriot of Lynch, and a big help on Eraserhead.
I almost forgot how slow The Return was; it was slow for 2017 television, but would be completely untenable nowadays.
Loved your Matthew Lillard reaction lol. He did an interview where he stated he had no idea what his role was even about. So that's just his original confused face.
Some sweet revisits, but also some horror scenes in random locations like "New York" (never heard of it, maybe a SciFi version of York?) or "South Dakota". We're not in Twin Peaks anymore, indeed!

Yay, btw don't pressure yourself about figuring everything out or knowing exactly what's going on...just enjoy the experience how you want to, we're all here to see what YOU think and feel about it. There will be much to discuss and theorize about 👍

You know, I've been following along for your entire TWIN PEAKS journey, but I stopped commenting beginning with the season 2 finale, because I'm honestly at a loss as to what I could possibly add. Your reactions are so spot-on. Based on your comments at the end of the Return's opening episode, you're in the right ballpark thematically and metaphysically, but not necessarily specifically.
"...and thus began our longest journey together."
