Future Plans, Workload and Original Content ( Project : Vantablack )
Added 2019-05-24 03:06:57 +0000 UTCIm not gonna lie, I've been having a few rough weeks lately. The stress of working on comms on the daily and maintaining my own health has brought up a wave of depression that i've been struggling to lose. Im thankful to do Illustration and Animation over regular, soul crushing service work, but Im starting to feel like Im losing all ambition, constantly working on the behalf of others just to survive. I'll continue to do so to avoid going back into a 9-5 Job, however there will be some changes, not just to my work ethic, but to my future content:
Higher Commission Rates : Ive been told various times that I've been undercharging, and that by increasing my commission prices I could lighten my workload, leading to less stress. I fear that I'll be replaced and overlooked for more talented (and cheaper) options, so I've decided to start a slow process of price raising. Starting on June 1st, I'll be increasing ALL of my price options by 5-10$, and slowly increase them on a monthly basis. Or atleast untill people stop biting, lol
Pateron Plans : I'll continue to do a Monthly request poll for higher patrons, and put bigger project up early by a day / a few days before public release. However, I plan on doing a few personal exclusives for patreon occasionally, and consider opening up a NSFW tier if things get really desperate. If this is the case, it'll be full of nothing but Patron request pics, or at least from a selection of choices both Male AND female for tiered patrons to choose. Keep in mind Lewds are NOT my main focus, but if it brings a few more people in to fund my future project, I'll gladly provide. that being said, I'd like to top it of with :

I've always wanted to make something original, something to make my own. Perhaps influenced by my favorite stores, but something original regardless, however the problem I have is what medium to go for. A webcomic would be a good weekly pull, however meeting dealines and completing the story is my upmost priority, I could go for a book, but then I couldn't show off what I truly vision with words alone. And an animation would take ages, and a team that I could never afford. So thats why, I plan on settling on a happy medium, an Illustrated Novel. I would release it in batches of chapters, with small pictures/illustrations/descriptions on the side to go along with the scene, and should it come to an action sequence or pivotal moment, devote an entire chapter to a comic format. This way I can still draw out my vision, and provide plenty of detail and world-building that would only be glossed over in a text bubble. I want to keep the main details under wraps for now, but starting next month I'll start posting character designs, world-building tidbits, and other forms of pre-production to help flesh out things before I get started. The goal is to get started on regular updates early next year, however I still want to cultivate a base audience used to my original content before I go full throttle, so if things seem a bit stagnant, I'll hold off a little bit longer, and get it started sometime later next year at the latest. It may seem a bit shallow, but I've seen too many passion projects get left in the dust, and If i wanna devote myself to this,I want to be assured it'll get a base audience, so it can grow into something special. We shall see how things go over the course of the next few months, but I sincerely hope you'll give my own ideas a shot.
TLDR: The gameplan for the rest of the year is to bring in more incentives to my Patreon, reduce my workload by slowly increasing my rates, and transition into more original content with Project : Vantablack, and provide regular updates early next year. Things may go swimmingly, or probably not, but I'll try a beast as I can. I just hope that you all can be there to be there along the way. Thanks for reading my giant spiel, and stay tuned :p -Boo
