The accuracy percentage for Hollywood has to be utterly abysmal, like 99.99999999% of bullets fired miss. Especially when the gun is aimed at an important character.

That means every tap adds to the potential energy, so when the bullet is released, it has even more kinetic energy (and destructive power) than before.
