Also some of the “cheesiness” of the dialogue is a translation subtitle issue. These subs aren’t exactly the best translation….

2025-10-05 05:17:38 +0000 UTCLuke the reason that you’re confused about a bunch of stuff is that the studio that did season 3 left out so much stuff and made up their own story for the last three episodes. The new studio that did season 4 is doing a much closer adaptation of the follow up novels, but that means that stuff you should have learned in season 3 is missing unfortunately. The episode 0 ova that you skipped covers some of this (but not all).

This season does a bad job emphasizing it, but Cao Cao wields the strongest Longinus in the series. True Longinus (his spear) is the same spear used to kill Jesus on the cross and is the strongest Sacred Gear and Holy Weapon. Cao Cao would mop anyone Issei has fought previously (only one in contention is Vali, who would also smoke anyone else Issei has fought) Also, Issei was never shown to be up there with the strongest of the verse in S3 either. Who did he actually fight? Loki (team fight, had Mjolnir, non-canon) & Diodora and Shalba (none of which are anywhere near close to the “strongest beings”)
