All I can add is that I respect that instead of banning chatters for expressing their distaste you just argue back, even if I’m intensely angered by the way you argue.

2025-10-21 03:10:33 +0000 UTCI’m coming back nearly two months after dropping this reaction because I truly want to keep watching, but it was very frustrating to reopen the reaction and come right back to the moment that pissed me off and made me quit lol I respect Luke having his own opinion on a character, but it’s insufferable to me to see him constantly accusing people of only liking Erina in hindsight when they argue against him. This is a major pet peeve (really it’s more significant than a pet peeve) of mine where people make assumptions about someone or their thought process in order to dismiss their opinion. He says chat doubles down based on him making a snide comment and then digs in his own heels accusing them all of faulty logic for their perspectives. I’ve enjoyed your reactions, but lord do I wish they weren’t live streams to prevent this behavior from coming out (on both sides to an extent). I can’t tell you how to do your job, but I hope I can give feedback on how the way you’re doing it makes me feel to watch it.

2025-10-21 03:07:53 +0000 UTCI've read some comments saying a disappointing reaction and I think it's been like that a bit since the beginning. I don't know what happen with Luke but with this series he paused a lot even compared to others, the overuse of sarcasm too. I know it's funny, but if used everytime... it kinda reminds of fruit of evolution 1rst and 2nd season comparison in the way how the reactions use to be for other animes.. what a shame. Still, I'll keep watching to the end, I don't leave a journey once started, i just thought of commenting my opinion since i saw a lot of comments regarding how they feel about it. And about the Erina situation, I won't say Luke should've react this way or another, everyone is different, but it'd help if not laughing a bit too much about her situation, i guess it's kinda chat's fault like I've read on some other comment, whatver~

2025-08-31 02:12:50 +0000 UTCI dont mind you brushing off the trauma due to your not understanding it(and this isnt coming from hindsight), but laughing and joking about trauma is not funny and very unsettling of your mindset. I agree chat is annoying as shit with the half spoiler hindsighting, but in this case it wasnt that, it was people defending mental health as a whole while you were laughing about trauma.

2025-08-29 01:32:33 +0000 UTCLighten up my friend. This is so watered down for the Anime that it practically trivializes the whole thing. I agree wit you that it's messed up but even when I watched this arc many moons ago I was like "huh?" "wait what!!???" "that's what they're going with!?". Blame the Anime mate.

2025-08-27 19:28:53 +0000 UTCLol at this point I am partially convinced that Luke's chat is 80% made up of reddit mods lol. The way they all feel that their reaction is the only right reaction and every other opinion is trash is in a funny way just like Nakiri Azami(the guy they all seem to hate). I'm sorry, Im with Luke on this one, even though I understand that Erinas abuse sequence was much less brutal and severe in the adaptation as opposed the Manga, Luke does not have that as a point of reference and for chat to argue with a guy that doesn't have the same reaction because he can only react to what he is watching is actually just diabolical.

2025-08-27 19:24:43 +0000 UTCLuke’s strange hatred of Erina kinda ruined this reaction for me. It’s ok to not like a character but when you get backstory on the trauma that caused her to be the way she is and then belittle it and hyper-focus on the ‘throwing food away’ part instead of the brainwashing, extreme isolation, and abuse she went through as a small child kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Great episodes but the overall lack of understanding and empathy caused this to be a disappointing reaction tbh

2025-08-27 17:16:54 +0000 UTCJust watched first ep and explaination and honestly i dont know if its because of the bias luke got from going against chat and subconsciously downplays erinas past. Regardless you can clearly see how insanely traumatised erina is at just a glace of her Father, and then even going off of the episode content alone (leaving chat info out of this) imagine your own father, a figure of trust and a rolemodel, comes in, puts you in a dark room, forces you to go against your moral believes no matter what it may be, hurts you in the process and tells you he doesnt need a daughter that basically isnt a tool for him. Additionally he completely isolates you from your family and friends for an unknown amount of time (but apparently the entire time alice was in scandinavia which we know has been quite a long time) and presumably repeats said actions until youre his tool. We subsequently see her call every other dish disgusting as it does not meet her fathers standards which is EXACTLY what she did with soma as it definitly was a good dish, but it 100% didnt fullfill the code she has engrained in her. Its a hard watch for me sadly, maybe because chat and Luke just butting heads but also because Luke's just insisting in being right or saying people bring in hindsight or extra content which really wasnt needed at this point.

2025-08-26 23:03:20 +0000 UTCSeriously, for someone emotional at times during reaction, you are so desensitized toward Erina's childhood trauma. I didn't like Erina as well from the start, but even I felt sorry for her. Although I read the manga, and I think it is more serious in the manga compared to the anime, and describes everything in greater detail, the anime still got the gist of it. Still, according to you, mental abuse is not abuse then. Only physical abuse is true abuse. So, according to you, locking up a kid in a dark room is not bad. Mentally torturing a kid over several days is not bad. It needs to be on a level of bad comparable to a f-up anime to be truly bad. They need to be locked up in a room of worms, or get someone they are close to killed right in front of them, or get slapped and punched in places on their body where others can't see. Only then should you feel sorry for a child. However, if they are pressured to do things against their will, or if they are prevented from having any kind of fun (which is how a child should be), or if they are isolated from meeting other children their age, all these are unacceptable. No abuse at all, according to Mr. Luke. Erina's dad clearly abused her, but you are like, "Nah, it's not that bad." Even if you are not comparing, you are still making fun of someone's trauma because you said earlier that nothing physical happened, so it isn't that bad. It isn't even about someone's opinion. It is a question about fact, and it is a fact that Erina was abused by her father. But you said it is not that bad (implied compared to other traumas). No one is making stuff up. You are just bad at keeping your attention. Erina was imprisoned for several months by her father. She wasn't allowed to meet anyone and was completely isolated. You are only focusing on her throwing away the food and not getting the point. Her father surely traumatized her to the point that a proud lady like Erina was shaking with fear. I am not a fan of Erina, but I did feel sorry for her at this point in the story. And you are just a fan of it, like that conversation you had in your Psycho-pass reaction. If she were beaten with a hammer, maybe then she would be considered abused. Anyway, I feel bad about writing all these negative comments. Please don't get offended by my words. This is just an anime and a fictional character. There are so many things in this anime that wouldn't make any sense in the real world. I am sorry if my words seem too harsh. The main thing is enjoying the show, and I hope you are enjoying it.

2025-08-26 07:01:55 +0000 UTCLuke, if one of your kids was locked in a room, isolated from all family for months to years (cousin was gone for years and Erina never got any letters so we have knowledge it was an extended period of time), and that entire time was told to only listen to and value the opinion of the person that took your child. Then once you got your child back they flinched, trembled, and were terrified to be in the presence of the person they'd been with, would you really not think it's a big deal? Like yeah, it's not as bad as the actions of Dio or some over the top anime villain, but abuse is still horrible and the reactions of everyone in the show to knowing someone was abused for an extended period of time is totally reasonable. Just seems like a really weird hill to die on and fight with chat about.

2025-08-26 00:53:09 +0000 UTCDude locked his daughter in a dark room, forced her to do only what he wanted, didn't let her have any friends, destroyed the letters her cousin sent her, mentally abused her. Luke: Nah... it's not that bad.

Just if someone didn't know using VPN of any kind doesn't mean that internet history can't be seen, it only means that that VPN has access to it and not the providers. It is only matter who you trust more, the VPN company or the internet provider.

2025-08-25 15:54:59 +0000 UTCI think that here it really shows how much people have screwed by yelling Luke to like Erina even without any good reason beforehand. Normally Luke almost flinches on anime bad dads and child abuse, but this whole reveal part has become now just a joke that Erinas father isn't the literal devil ordering everyones executions and shooting puppys. In the end this is still just a cooking show and we should not be expecting world ending threats to be something our "villains" would do.

2025-08-25 15:22:24 +0000 UTCso.. it seems he's downplaying what Erina experienced wherein it's the prime reason why he hated Erina in S1 and S2. this is like Marina from Takopi but I'm surprised he didn't understood this after watching Takopi

2025-08-25 05:36:20 +0000 UTCcommenting this while at 17:18 - Luke not able to see that the reason why Erina is like a bitch in S1 and S2 is cuz of what her father did similar to what Takopi anime taught us?
