Akane's development is really satisfying when you see how she is in season 3 and the end of the latest movie.

2025-10-07 13:29:48 +0000 UTCIdk why it made me unreasonably upset seeing people in the chat saying incorrect things about the shotgun, like mans had to pause and walk around for a bit before coming back to continue watching

2025-10-06 09:22:53 +0000 UTCThe scene where our MC meets the main antagonist for the first time is one of those moments that stuck with me after I watched this the first time. It's such a a core defining moment to this series and what made it go from a good show to a great story.

2025-08-27 15:59:34 +0000 UTCbillionaires get the exact same number of votes as every other citizen. the only reason that millionaires and billionaires disproportionately affect election outcomes is because 99% of them actually vote versus the 30-ish % of most other citizens. so obviously they will be a substantial block of voters.

2025-08-25 02:29:56 +0000 UTCIf you paid attention properly, you would have known that the random person's ID they keep showing appeared in previous episodes. He was the prime suspect in the Specimen case. He was a teacher at that all-girls school, and he was never caught. You completely missed that part during those episodes and keep suspecting that the female art student's dad was the previous killer. No one is doing anything to help that lady in a red dress, which makes perfect sense in this world. Anyone who has even a bit of conscience is rotting in prison/rehab for having their crime coefficient high. All the people in that crowd were afraid to do anything because they didn't want to get their hue changed. And the people who were even a bit concerned weren't sure why the Sybill system wasn't doing anything. If the man who is hammering the woman was wrong Sybill system will identify and notify the authority. They believe in the Sybill system more than any morality. They do not broadcast any kind of criminal activities over the media to prevent people from getting stressed and getting their hue clouded. People who ran away were the people whose lives were in immediate danger, but these people are not in danger. They only care about their crime coefficient and don't want to do anything unnecessary to increase their crime coefficient. The pharmacy girl asks for help on the camera from the Sybill system rather than calling for people expecting help. People are just too afraid to help other people in any violent situation. Well, despite what I am saying, you do make a good point about there not being even a single person trying to help that woman in red. Oh, and yeah, the younger generation is getting less and less empathetic toward others. It's really sad.

2025-08-25 00:33:42 +0000 UTCI'd remember to keep perspective when talking about 'generations', While the zoomers etc certainly have their fair share of troubles to deal with, don't forget that it's the generations before that set those conditions for them. No modern phenomena is going to suddenly ruin society all on it's own, society has always been shit. Plus, I think the series shows well enough on it's own that you can't simply regulate people into being good people. People will find ways around it, people will have edge case circumstances, People will outsource their will, people will simply stop caring about respecting the law. A thousand and one problems, same as our modern society, or the society before it, or the one before it. The problems appear slightly different every time but they're always there.

2025-08-21 03:08:15 +0000 UTCJust my opinion, I have watched alot of anime, and I watch reactions of old anime that I have seen (rewatch), or new anime that is hyped. Sometimes I watch reactions of old anime that I have not seen if done by a reactor I follow, like I watched Monster with Luke. I think the views you get on your reactions of old anime, is just a reflection of how many people know of an anime and want to rewatch it + some people who follow you. The number of people who know of an anime is like a pyramid, and there are some genres that dominate the top of the pyramid (partly due to the demographics they appeal to). I love Food Wars and Psychopass, but also feel like their appeal is towards a niche group, so it is interesting that sometimes niche groups win in your anime votes (but that might also mean your style of reaction/content is not hitting the mainstream groups that bring in the views).

2025-08-20 11:35:55 +0000 UTCI do feel for Luke there at the end. I'm also very worried about such a reality. But one also has to understand WHY this sorta thing is happening to make sure it doesn't become more or a problem going forward. So Ill play a bit of devil's advocate. In the "Dog in river" example. Imagine if that dog was doing water rehab for muscle damage, and there were observers on the other side of the river keeping en eye on the dog. OBVIOUSLY not a likely reality, but thats not important. All I'm asking is that you accept that as reality for this example. When the onlooker jumps in to save the dog, they damage the dog's shoulder as they grabbed it too hard. The onlooker never saw the observers, so from their frame of reference: A bad shoulder is better than a dead dog. But from the observers perspective, the rehab was interfered with and they now also have to help improve the dogs shoulder. Here lies the problem. When all the facts are on the table (and everyone agrees those are indeed the facts) everyone can see that this was just an unfortunate situation. The onlooker acted in a perfect manner with the understanding they had. But the dog did suffer from the situation. Unfortunate, but no one was in the wrong. We just have to accept it and move on. This is how SO MUCH of discourse is created. When you ONLY showcases a story from A FRAME OF REFERENCE, that can still be TRUTH, and also be WRONG. "The onlooker hurt the dog" "They acted right" Those statements are both true and also in disagreement with each-other. People have to be WILLING to look at the whole picture, ACCEPT being wrong, and also FORGIVE those in the wrong and not hold it over them. If we, as a whole, cant live to that standard. Then this problem wont be solved. And the amount of trolls, self interested opportunists, miss-info, dis-info, and general vitriol from preexisting entrenchment on the internet, just makes this whole process harder on everyone...

2025-08-19 09:57:09 +0000 UTCAnyone pointing out the logistics of why she missed is missing the point. She missed because she couldn't put the Dominator down and she couldn't do it without closing her eyes - she couldn't fully commit. Makishima wanted to see her enact her own will, but she clung to the Sybil system and, even while pulling the trigger, she tried to disassociate from her actions by closing her eyes - that's why he was disappointed.

2025-08-19 02:03:13 +0000 UTCMakes sense to me that Akane missed her shots with the shotgun. It was one handed, with a shotgun firing shells big enough to blast chunks off concrete. The recoil would have been massive on a gunpowder weapon which she's almost certainly never fired before. Tbh its a miracle she didnt hit her friend by mistake. Not even factoring in the shear panic she was feeling

2025-08-18 22:17:54 +0000 UTCThere is literally a joke here in Finland that the reason why Finland keeps being the "Happiest" country is because all the sad ones keep killing them selves, since our suicide rates used to be pretty high.
