Rayman Progress and All-Round Update (Blog)

Hello everyone!

Once again it'll just be a blog post for what I want to say today. I did try and film a vlog but I didn't really find myself wording things well, or really feeling all that comfortable speaking candidly to the camera again....(maybe the vlogs weren't such a  good idea after all)

But as there were no question/news submissions anyway, I've condensed what I was going to say down into a blog post.

RAYMAN:

So, the cat is finally out of the bag!

With Rayman, I've starting up a new series of videos that I'll be focusing on in the coming months! I've been slowly working my way towards this series, referencing it many times in all of the videos throughout the 2021 so far and while there's no specific or topical reason for doing it... I just felt like covering the series!

In an ideal world this would be as many entries and spin-off in the series as possible, all done back-to-back with videos as often as possible to keep up the momentum, but the likelihood of that happening is slim.

Due to how many videos I'm physically  able to make given my available time, and the increasing need to find another day job, I'll have to be selective in how much of the series I cover.

At the moment the current plan is to at the very least talk about the four mainline entries, being; Rayman, Rayman 2, Rayman 3 and Rayman Raving Rabbids.

There is the possibility of me talking about Rayman Arena and some of the handheld games and ports, but this is the area I feel I really do need to be selective, for reasons I'[ll go into shortly...

PSYCHONAUTS 2:

In the time since uploading the first Rayman video, we've now got Psychonauts 2 out! This is something I do want to play but I can't really get started on that yet.

Since getting the PC I'm now using, it's given me a one-time use of Xbox Game Pass for a month which I've been saving for this very occasion. But I don't really want to activate that yet until I know I'm fully able to sit down and play it.... or in other words, until I've finished the Rayman 2 video.

I'm looking forward to it though, and it's definitely something I'd want to make a video about but it'll maybe happen next month at this rate.

RAYMAN 2 VIDEO:

Things have been slowly progressing on this one, but I do mean very slowly. Normally by now, I'd be at the point where I've recorded the voiceover and really started to make some progress on editing the video together but as of today... I'm still writing the script.

It's a combination of me feeling a little burnt out anyway, but I'm also literally covering 5 versions of the same game in this one video so I've got myself to blame for wanting to do this.

I will stand by my original idea though as it's been interesting to see some of the changes between versions, anyone seeing me play the PS2 version in some livestreams will know some of the oddities I came across!

There's also some other things I have planned for this video which I won't go in to, but people will definitely like to see!

SUMMARY:

All in all, things are ok I guess.

Outside of my video creating efforts my main concern is finding another job and dealing with either the change of starting a new one, or putting up with the same bullshit I had to deal with last Christmas if I'm still where I am now.

Beyond that, I'll make progress on videos where and when I can. If any significant pauses happen then I'll put the Patreon page on hold again but I don;t think I'm at that point just yet.
