Learning Blender: Samples

So I'm working on a small loop of D.Va here riding a Bad Dragon Axel dildo in the bathroom. I was rendering overnight at 1000 samples (you know, mo samples mo quality) and when I work up it was only 35 frames through it. So I stopped it and wondered if I could make it go faster. First thing I did was lower the samples and re-render the last rendered frame. And I couldn't see a difference at all. So I wondered how low I could get it.

You can see that there are 1000 samples, 500 samples, 350 samples, and 200 samples images above. The only difference I could tell was that the 200 samples looked a little darker, so I added another light bounce (2 => 3) and it brightened it up.

My render settings for these guys:

Everything else is at default (I think).
