Lincoln wasn't ready for that.

This could have gone down a darker path. What if Lincoln didn’t confront Lynn about the soccer thing? What if he jumped to conclusions and made a decision to move to a boarding school in a faraway state? He could have broken Lynn’s heart without realizing what she did for him.

That is true. It's clear that her feelings for Lincoln are stronger than her desire to chase her sports dreams because Lincoln is her biggest dream. As for whether it's worth the risk, what are the choices? A: Continue to pretend to hide their feelings for the rest of their lives and when they're old and look back on their lives and ask if they have any regrets, they'll most likely say that they didn't try. Or B: Risk it all, live their lives together, and be happy together.

Your comment makes me very happy for reasons I can't share yet :'D

Aww, that was so moving. While Lynn may not be well-known for her insight, some of the moments where she does exhibit it are beautiful and captivating. This is one of those moments. To see Lynn sacrifice her dream in order to keep Lincoln in her life is a very powerful statement. She called Lincoln her biggest dream – God, if that is not the biggest testament in how her priorities have changed, then I don’t know what is. Her struggle is still real, though. No matter how hard she’s tried to fight and comprehend, Lynn’s feelings for Lincoln are not going away; if anything, they’re only getting stronger day by day. However, when she says she would rather settle for being near Lincoln, that sounds like second place mentality. And as far as I know, Lynn Loud Jr. has never been one to settle for second place. If I were in her cleats, I would say it’s time for her to claim what is rightfully hers. But the fear is justified and the consequences are life-altering. However, I was reminded of a piece of dialogue Lynn told Lincoln during Luna’s prom in passing. It may have been in a different context previously, but it can be applicable to this situation. Because if Lynn and Lincoln choose to go down this road together, there will always be that risk of getting caught. And Lynn previously had asked Lincoln, “But isn’t it worth the risk?” I think it is.
