Since it was a glamrock cover inspired shoot, I had the idea from the beginning to make a vinyl sleeve for Vuk - she was extatic when she saw.
We worked way too much on this throne. So here are the components:
LACK table for IKEA as the base under the chair
Colonial style chair without cushioning
this was the hardest part - it was a shitty chair i found on the street... Vuk helped me renovate it (she is kind of a carpenter) - I painted it black and reassambled it (it took about 3 weeks total)
Fake metal shards and fake sawblades
we just broke plastic and glass to the desired shapes than spraypainted it to a metallic color
the sawblades are cut out of wood (Vuk did that) than we painted them with the same spraypaint and glued them to the chair (we did way too many sawblades, I think Vuk wanted to be sure we have enough - so we ended up using about 14 instead of the 80 we had at hand
red velvet textile
about 3m from a textile shop
metal chain
about 5m from a DIY store
Crimson paper backdrop
Fog machine
Single beauty dish from the front and a strip with red gel inside from the left side + an additional lamp for the swords reflection (that was a bitch to position right)
There isn't much magic to the editing, the only interesting part is that I added some haze to the edges of shapes so it gives that 80s vibe.
Sony A7iii
Sigma 85mm lens
Vuk also insisted we make a picture together:
I tried my best to make a fitting expression.
