Hi Bisscute 😊 from San Antonio Texas USA 😊 Wonderful reaction and analysis and commentary for Episode 7 😊👍 This episode episode for understanding Frank, Adeline and Ed. In the case of Frank I grew up with an alcoholic father and grew to understand the tendency that he had that caused him to drink. Drinking alcohol is a sense of coping but the problems never solve themselves as you rightly describe... they always are there and things just get worse. Deep down Frank believes that he is justified in going to the Gein farm selling all the items for what Ed did his mother and others and the fact that it will not be standing trial because he is ruled and competent which means no prison time. The sheriff says no and tells Frank that he needs help. Your description of Frank is very wise that you cannot blame things forever that you have to move on and do the best you can. We found out that Frank ignores the sheriff's advice that goes on ahead to charge people 50 cents to look over things for an auction that will be coming the following Sunday. Sure finds out about this drives to the Gein farm and tells Frank to stop whereby Frank threatens the sheriff with a riot of people. An "act of God"as you describe in the form of a fire burns down the house and all the belongings with only the car remaining that Frank used to drum up advertising for the upcoming auction driving through town with a bullhorn. Frank sees what the fire has done and questions the sheriff who just arrived as well and to share and no knowledge. Next we'll see Adeline who is the auctioneer assistant with the bullhorn in her and announcing to the audience as she is also the stringer reporter for the New York daily Times announcing that only the car remains and that the bidding will start at $10. You're correct and your analysis about people's attraction to the morbid the strange it is indeed a fascination. There was a time in the United States where there were carnivals that traveled throughout the country and one section of the carnival was called "the strange and the unusual". Yes there were strong men and sword swallowers and fire eaters but there were also oddities such as the tattooed man, the tiny horse, the giant horse, the tiny woman, the giant man, the bearded lady and people would pay money to go into a tent and see these oddities so there are people who are attracted to those sorts of things. After it has been deemed by the judge to be incompetent stand trial to the state hospital for the mentally ill. You're discussion in this area is spot on and the diagnosis is indeed his mother place over and over and over again while she was growing up. You correctly diagnosed the situation everything was in his mind having conversations with Elsa and Christine Jorgensen. By reading the comics about Elsa all the comments in their conversation rooted in that. The military guard that tells Elsa about the Golem... The golem is the mythological creature from Jewish folklore often created to protect the Jewish people. The most famous example is the Golem of Prague, which was said to have been created from clay by Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel to defend the Jewish community from antisemitic attacks. While created as a protector, stories often describe the golem becoming unruly or violent and having to be destroyed, highlighting themes of control and unintended consequences. Origin: The legend originated in medieval Jewish sources, with the most famous version detailing how Rabbi Judah Loew created the Golem of Prague. Creation: The golem is a humanoid figure typically made from clay or mud and animated by sacred words or a magic scroll. Purpose: Its primary purpose was to protect the Jewish community from persecution and threats, such as the pogroms of the era. Nature: The golem is described as having supernatural strength and being under its creator's control, but it can also become a monster if its commands are misinterpreted or if it goes on a rampage. Themes: The golem's story explores philosophical and ethical questions about creation, free will, and the dangers of a creation turning against its creator. Here is a 1915 silent German movie about the Golem... https://archive.org/details/TheGolem1915LostFilmFragments The 1917 sequel "The Golem and the Dancing Girl" has been completely lost. Here is the 1920 silent movie " The Golem: How He Came Into The World" also in German ... https://archive.org/details/TheGolem_893 In the scene with Elsa deciding that death is the best way out and hanging herself you commented on retribution and karma and there is a Bible verse in the book of Numbers chapter 32:23 in which the saying is "your sins will find you out"... The Bible verse "Your sins will find you out" is found in Numbers 32:23, where Moses warns the tribes of Reuben and Gad that if they fail to keep their promise to help fight for the Promised Land, their sin will be revealed. The phrase serves as a warning that actions have consequences and that unconfessed or hidden wrongdoing will eventually have negative repercussions, whether on Earth or in eternity. Context in Numbers 32:23 The Promise: The tribes of Reuben and Gad asked Moses if they could settle east of the Jordan River, leaving their families and property there while the other men went to war in Canaan. The Warning: Moses agreed but warned them that if they failed to fulfill their promise to help conquer the land, they would be "sinning against the Lord". The Meaning: The warning "be sure your sin will find you out" means that the consequences of their broken promise would become evident and affect them. Broader Spiritual Significance Sin has Consequences: The principle that sin will find a person out is a recurring theme in the Bible, emphasizing that no wrongdoing escapes God's notice or the eventual reckoning for it. A Call to Confession: The phrase encourages individuals to be honest about their sins and confess them rather than hiding them, leading to God's forgiveness and purification. God's Justice: The verse highlights the inherent justice in God's universe, where every action ultimately brings a result and no one can escape their own accountability for their actions. Using the shortwave radios Ed talks to Christine Jorgensen... Christine Jorgensen (/ˈdʒɔːrɡənsən/; May 30, 1926 – May 3, 1989),[4] was an American actress, singer, recording artist, and transgender activist. A trans woman, she was the first person to become widely known in the United States for having sex reassignment surgery. Having reacted to the movie Silence of the Lambs gives you insight to the character of Buffalo Bill. Now watching the documentary of Ed Gein here's where the influence came from. Your comment about recasting at this point I would have to disagree because I've seen many movies where the character aged in the course of the movie and the makeup artist do a remarkable job in the aging process so keeping the same character throughout I believe adds to the flow of the storytelling. Here is where Ed's condition is worsening and he's hearing voices like the face on the ceiling telling him to kill them All and imagining that people are different personalities than they really are. Salty is indeed a nurse of compassion and a good friend Ed imagines Mahoney is a nurse that triggers the patient's tendencies saying that Ed is a very clever killer to the point of him imagining the bathroom scene. Your constant commentary about the style of bathroom stalls in America is interesting. I've been reading about bathroom stalls in other parts of the world and growing up with it I see any issues and truthfully Americans do not even think about peeking. However I do notice as I have been working with people from other countries that they tend to use the toilet paper to hide the gaps fearing that someone may look in. However the longer they stay in this country though they find out that we're not really interested in this...we just go into the bathroom, do our business and get out. Now we get to see where Ed is talking to the psychiatrist after seeing seeing Nurse Mahoney in the hallway wondering why she is not dead after he killed her the night before. I had a job as a billing assistant and a mental facility and I came to understand the patience and their conditions. I was able to speak with the psychiatrist on the staff and how he diagnosed each of the people that came in. Here is where you stated that lobotomy where they thought by opening holes in the skull that the strange voices would escape and you related to the fact that that does not work. This is similar to the medical thinking of bloodletting that somehow the blood was the cause of the disease but in fact the blood is life and when they understood that that type of procedure stopped. The psychiatrist was helping Ed to understand why he hears the voices that are causing him to commit the acts that he has. You commented on the split personalities as a psychiatrist was describing the fracturedness of his brain where Ed describes in his imaginary talk with Christine Jorgensen which the nurse overheard described that there's a puzzle and there are pieces missing and this related to the description of a mirror that has been shattered and that is what is causing Ed's condition. In the scene where the patients are lining up to receive their medication you notice that some patients require different medication and others require another type of it medication. In Ed's case he is taking lithium. This will cause his personalities to main line and keep him on an even keel. No, he will not be a vegetable however he really will not have a personality anymore. He will be more of a zombie like personality. The patients at the clinic seemed normal and yet not normal at the same time and were able to function on Their own as long as they stayed on their medication. You will also notice that most of them will be smoking as tobacco seems to have a calming effect for them. That is why the clinic we handed out cigarettes like candy and they went outside and smoked during the brakes. You mentioned the movie "Split" went in and the psychiatrist were discussing what was happening in his brain where it said his brain is into pieces and the psychiatrist said it was like a mirror dropping on the ground and the shards of glass we're not allowing it to see things from a reality and an imaginary perspective. Psychologist said you had that his friend was shattered and I believe that is caused by his mother constantly constantly constantly drilling into him ideas which is very very unfortunate. We had one patient at the clinic who had five different personalities... in the movie he many many more. As you say and commented that the brain is something that we truly do not understand and is very fascinating how we can compartmentalize different aspects of a trauma to protect. In the cases of split personalities that is exactly what has happened where one characteristic or personality protects another one and they all lived in the same person at the same time and the triggering effect causes one personality to reveal at a certain time. Thank you for all your hard work and I appreciate you so much. Have a great day and God bless you with much love and prayers for strength and good health bye-bye 😊👍💪❤️

2025-10-18 03:28:35 +0000 UTCHi Bisscute 😊 from San Antonio Texas USA Wonderful reaction and analysis and commentary for Episode 6. What is between our two ears forms who we are. The ultimate reality is that we have choice which can be a blessing or a curse. A blessing when we listen to the good. A curse when we listen to the bad. Until we reach the age of accountability we are putty in some else's hands. In the case of Ed his mother formed his reality from day one. You have done an excellent job of forming this case study on Ed including ways and people in his life that could have set his course in life in a different direction. His reliance on his mother drove him and yet to Adeline as well. As you stated correctly Adeline could easily have been brought in as a co-conspirator in the acts given her involvement and introducing necrophilia and other disturbing acts. Let us not forget the imprinting early on of the images from the concentration camps then he saw at the movie theater as part of the newsreels as well as the magazine that led to the acts that he perpetrated. Finding the gift for Eddie at the hardware store clued the sheriff to go the Gein farm for investigation. Since it was later determined that Ed was deemed incompetent to stand trial the issue of the fourth amendment against illegal searches and seizure never came into question as the sherriff did not have a search warrant signed by a judge to enter Ed's house. Probable cause could be a justification for entering the house however at trial it's a very gray area and is better to have a signed warrant by the judges before going forward. Your analysis of Frank being scarred by the horrific exposure of his mother's end is so spot on and was justified in him lashing out at Ed. Receiving his mother's remains physically gives him closure and yet it his mental state is what is concerning going forward as even Thanksgiving dinner at the generous sheriff's home was traumatic...yes indeed traumatic for life without proper counseling and help. Adeline is an opportunist. Even though in failure she got a taste of New York and knew this is where she wanted to be and be rid of Small Town USA for good. The news conference was her opportunity to publicly distance herself from Ed and in a small town this is important reputation wise eluding to the glances the other ladies had towards her in the diner. The amount of reporters at her news conference told her that this had made National News and this was her chance to get back to New York thereby contacting the New York Daily News to be a local reporter to give a local perspective on the story. You are correct that she should have more tact as a reporter however how many times do we see reporters want that response after an event with that question "How do you feel..." As a "stringer" (as she said to Frank about being an independent journalist) for the New York Daily News she sees an opportunity to make a difference and shed the small town existence for good. Your analysis about fascinating the brain is especially taking lie detector tests and that they indeed are not admissible in court. This adds to the frustration in the sheriff's interrogation of Ed and is later deemed that Ed is incompetent to stand trial. Thank you so very much for all your hard work and I appreciate you so very much. Have a great day and God bless you with much love and prayers for strength and good health bye-bye 😊👍💪❤️
