You being distracted a tiny bit is the whole point of this movie...action for the guys...eye candy for the girls. I agree with you that the romance angle didn't necessarily need to be in the plot of the movie and I also agree with your three star rating as this is a typical movie where plot is really not important... it's more about the action and muscular physique.... That's why his posters sold like crazy... Plus action toys... Marketing and merchandising. When Bloodsport was playing this movie would have been in coming attractions and posters outside the movie theater plus newspaper... complete media saturation. This is another "chick flick"... your quote "choice of interesting clothing" is apt. You also noticed the use of slow motion to accentuate the movements and focus on body structure. Did Jean-Claude Van Damme deliver... Yes he did.... You got "peaches" ๐ and a whole lot more.
