I agree with you that Susannah should have left when she intended to even though the snow blocked the train tracks. Yes, Winters in that part of the country are long and cold and at first thaw would have been time to go home and for her to have had the mindset all through winter... I'm leaving. Landfilled her with all sorts of stories of how things were out west and this excited her and then stepping off the train... Well... Seeing is believing. This movie was built with complex characters not unlike each one of us and I believe each and every one of us can relate to a character and maybe more than one. Your insight is remarkable. A fellow patron has given a great historical description of the quote that you said "those In search Of Glory often find death". I like your description of bad juju that indeed is a spiritual concept where Susannah and admitted that she thought bad things hurt people so she could have her way does set things in motion as there are real forces out there that will latch onto our thoughts and make them happen. In the case of Susannah she realized what she had done until the best thing for her and for everyone to take herself out... Very good insight in your analysis. I like your 4.75 rating as the movie almost had all the elements that you're looking for in a 5 star rating. Being that this film came from an actual story it could drop on the authors descriptive nature of characters and landscape and environment to paint a beautiful picture that we see on the screen.
