Biss the actor who played Daniel was actually 22 when this film was made. The actress was 20. Also end or mid credits weren't really a thing in the 80s and early 90s movies. The one big exception is Farris Buellers Day Off, a movie you absolutely should see. Finally the purpose of the red sash is just to distinguish two opponents for scoring purposes.
