I was 7 and this was the movie that made me an Arnie fan over Sly!! But as an adult I prefer Stallone now!

2024-09-17 12:45:43 +0000 UTCThis movie is great, what a classic!! It's essentially a three part film, the first 1/3 is your classic late 80's early 90's action film with all the things you'd expect. It had your muscle bound, cigar smoking, gun toting, alpha male action flick with lots guns and explosions. the 2/3 is a mysterious thriller/horror movie with an unseen entity that skins and collects the skulls of it's victims, with all the jump scare, blood and guts you'd expect from a 80'-90's horror film. And the final act is the classic 90's sci-fi Man vs Alien film with a creature we've never seen before this movie...when you really look at it, all three parts would been able to stand alone as a movie in of itself, but to have all three in one movie and to have them transition from one to the other seamlessly, proves that this movie was ahead of it's time and a rare diamond of a movie. Especially, for it being one that cast a little known actor (at that time) who barely speaks English, it's a testament to the fact that "they" just don't make movies like they used too!!

2024-09-17 12:43:52 +0000 UTCI was 14 yrs old when this came out. You are 100% correct. This movie is a teenage boys wet dream! Big guns, explosions, and an alien. Definitely not marketed towards girls. Glad you enjoyed it though. You seem to be coming around to the fact that older movies are pretty good and you don't need all the fancy CGI and special effects to like them. I think the next Arnold movie you watch should be Conan the Barbarian. It was actually Arnold's first big movie and the one that made him famous. Also James Earl Jones, who just passed away, is in it. Anyway thanks Biss I enjoyed watching this with you.
