2024-02-01 19:37:42 +0000 UTCIf you like Season 1, you're gonna LOVE Season 2. There are a couple character introductions that really enrich the show as a whole. There's also a series that has to do with one of those Season 2 characters that brings this particular take on the Marvel Universe to an entirely new level, and a reaction to that series would be AWESOME! As for other series ripe for reactions, since you ask: 1. Altered Carbon - an all-around blast. A truly fascinating storyline that got me thinking in all kinds of directions & ways that had never even occurred to me before. Visually stunning, with outstanding acting and not a moment of boredom. 2. The Expanse - redefines what it means to "turn it up to 11!" In my opinion, it's the single best series ever televised. And yes, I know full well the measure of that statement, and I stand by it fully! The story is simply unparalleled. The acting is unsurpassed. The depth & breadth of every part & parcel of the plot is mind-blowing in every aspect. The writing, the presentation and the delivery are each exceptional on their own, but their execution together is as a symphony that is nothing less than categorically phenomenal. And I say all of this as someone who doesn't think particularly highly of most anything even remotely sci-fi related, and yet this is my absolute favorite show of all time, bar none. Even as loathe as I am to watch almost any film or television that has much of anything to do with outer space that's not historically & scientifically accurate, I actually forgot that The Expanse in any way fit into that genre at all even before I was halfway through the first episode. And considering the show's attention to detail, its loyalty to the laws of physics right up to the edge of what's possible, and its thorough consideration & unequalled creativity of what "possible" might mean beyond the edge of what's known, I maintain that to categorize it even secondarily as just another work of sci-fi would be disingenuous, at best. Never have I known a show that does so much so well that even the few 9.5/10 episodes are almost disappointing by comparison to the others because 10/10 is simply the baseline for the series. The story is so incredibly creative, and thoughtful, and detailed, and exciting, and immersive, and I'd run out of accolades if I kept going because there aren't enough to adequately describe how good The Expanse is as a series. Suffice it to say, it's the one & only series that I was 100% sure at the end of every episode that what I'd just watched must be the absolute pinnacle for the series, only for each & every following episode to take the crown with style! And as a final thought, an admission: after discovering The Expanse (it was halfway through airing its 3rd season at the time), I did something I'd never done for any show, ever, before or since, no matter how good or how much I wanted to - I actually called in sick from work the moment I finished watching episode 4 of season 1 because, after resisting the temptation through the first 3 episodes, I just could not peel myself away, and I was so captivated that I watched clear through to season 3's mid-season finale, not able stop myself until I'd caught up with where the show was at the time... And then, I'm not the least bit ashamed to say, I immediately started over & watched all of it all over again!

A series that you might consider reacting to is “True Blood.” It was a very interesting series that went a lot of different directions. I can’t remember how many seasons there were, but it would be fun.

2024-01-30 13:03:06 +0000 UTCGlad you had fun watching season 1. Hopefully you will continue with seasons 2 and 3. Season 2 introduces one of the most interesting characters in Marvel comics. Not really a villain, but not really a hero either. As for a other series I can't recommend Firefly highly enough. It's only 13 episodes long plus one movie, Serenity, to conclude and wrap everything up!
