"Okay, we been waiting here for hours now. Just how long does it take to read a blood sample?"
Trey seemingly searched the room for answers, eyes darting everywhere but the direction of his mutated girlfriend.
With a purring lisp through her new fangs, Sabrina whispered, "Relax Trrrey, you're being sssuperrr uptight today!"
She reached a hand out to comfort, but he flinched squirmed away at the touch of her painted claws against his thigh.
Last night was certainly wild, perhaps the most intense sex of their lives, but the new day had left Trey conflicted and troubled by the weeks events. Sabrina had for years, suffered from an old sporting injury, which had cut short a promising career and dreams of the Olympics, leaving her with episodes of pain and crushing self doubt.
He was of course overjoyed that she was no longer hobbled by pain and doubt, but was this really the cost? He wasn't even sure he recognized the statuesque cat-woman pawing at his side.
Her hair longer and more golden, framed a feline face that housed blazing green eyes and a fanged muzzle. The nails that had been grown longer recently were now decidedly tremendous claws. Freshly polished and wickedly sharpened. He'd barely been able to scrape himself off the living room floor that morning, while Sabrina seemingly had time and energy to cultivate a glamorous look to accompany her new lease of life.
Her changed body too, was unfathomable. Unrealistically suggestive proportions wrapped tightly in lycra and leopard print did nothing to ease the worried man's troubled mind.
Trey had done what he could to support them both over the years, but his own career troubles meant he too struggled to maintain the lifestyle they'd become accustomed to. It was while contemplating selling the house and downsizing, that the couple received an offer to trail a new wonder-drug that could potentially answer all their prayers.
The offer came via a friend of a friend and at a most opportune time, so the couple didn't ask too many questions before jumping right in.
Sure, there was a mountain of non-disclosure agreements to sign, but until now, the whole arrangement had seemed fairly benign and hassle-free. The pills were delivered straight to the house, and Sabrina was to take one daily. She was encouraged to also visualise the healing process as much as possible, and it was suggested she even watch old footage of herself training or running laps on the track.
"To help achieve the mindset" came the suggestion over email.
Even if the miracle cure itself didn't work, they told themselves the pay being offered was enough to cover their assets for a few months more and perhaps bolster the kitty somewhat
