Slimy Thief Book One

And we finally got to the end of the first book of Slimy Thief (Reboot). An ending that looks more like a beginning, a pilot chapter of a series, at least, that’s what I was aiming for.

I’ve poured my heart, hope, and a little despair into this project as my last attempt at making something good that I’d like to work with. I’ve learned a lot in the process, and I also got out of my system a bunch of nerdy things I wanted to draw and say. It felt like I was tailoring the perfect dream job, one project that I could work on forever, but this isn’t about me…

It’s about the reader…

At the end of the day, this is a piece of media, and it’s made to entertain the reader. Then, only then, it becomes a creative product. As a product, it has to sell, enough to pay for the time and effort put into continuing it. In the smallest of my expectations, the comic is a showcase of my work, in that case, I’d have to be able to offer my skills as a service.

Now 1 year and 8 months, and 90 updates later I still don’t if this project was a success or a failure. Though I believe I should know by now.

Maybe people don’t know about it.

Maybe people didn’t read it.

Maybe the website sucks, making the comic unreadable.

Maybe the comic just sucks

Maybe y’all grew out of this kind of entertainment.

A lot of “maybes”

My plan of action is:

Draw a cover art.

Fix the website

Gather the notes and unused material for the book extras.

Draw a few character sheets and world-building content for a possible continuation.

Compile everything into the book. To sell in an online store (I was planning to kickstart it, but I don't think it would go well)

Hype it as much as possible for the next 3 months.

And see where it goes.

As always, thank you for the support.

Comments

If you'll publish it (kickstarter or anything else) I will buy it for sure!

Spectrum

Wait it continued? I thought it was dead. And What website?
