And for those who know Gévua, I want to reiterate that this isn't a copy paste of Charlotte and Gévua's story and character development. If anything, Gévua gets WORSE without someone like Charlotte anchoring her. The fact too is that Gévua was quite literally separated from Charlotte's self in death. There's no angel on her shoulder, as is there not one on Madeleine's.
In the ending I alluded to some possible changes in the historical narrative.

There's going to be some alternate history involved with Madeleine and the Franco-German War. No, France doesn't SOMEHOW win they still lose catastrophically just the same within a year but the frontline manages to miraculously hold on far longer than it did in reality. Internally, doctrines changed, concepts for war not meant to be seen for another four decades arose prematurely when the technology had yet to meet its demands. A fraudulent, compulsive, desperate Emperor's obsession with his predecessor, his infamous uncle, had been exploited by the seemingly supernatural. And the consequence was a river thick with French blood.
