A Walk in the Rain

Out of breath and with legs burning from the stairs, Kas barged open the door from the stairwell and stumbled out into the storm. He was greeted by rain in sheets so heavy that he had to shield his eyes to see as he came out into the open air of the rooftop. He was instantly soaked to the skin. Making his way for the corner of the building on Hazel and Montrose he peered into the darkness. The lights from the office blocks around him glittered and reminded him of what it was to be warm and dry. He waited. She would soon be here.

He felt her before he saw her. An almost timid thud through his feet and fingers while the rain masked her. She was a dark shape coming out of the night. A void that blocked the glow of the city, again she was cloaked by the rain until she was almost upon him. The noise from the street had been a background hum, but when she approached it fell silent as traffic stopped. Now he heard her footfalls as they crunched the pavement, and heard the rain as it struck her body. Rivers of water streamed and cascaded off her, flowing down the canyon of her cleavage and down over her belly and through her dark bush, which filled his view. A forest level with the rooftop. Her electric blue hair was slick and soaked, and she laughed as she walked. Her hips barely fit down the street, grazing the tower blocks as she passed, leaving behind the odd gouge in the facade, a new open air balcony for the building’s occupants. He watched as a hand the size of a tennis court swung past him at frightening speed, only a few feet away.

He knew he was in danger, they all were. She was not a kindly soul, despite being quick witted she had a temper, and was manipulative and spiteful. Now she was gigantic and the world was going to have to figure out how to deal with her. It was going to be a long night.
