Special Week Report

Hey there, folks!
Work on MBD v4.3 is almost complete; we've got everything we need to finish the game. Sadly, our coder has come down with something and is currently on fever reducers. We really hope for your understanding!

We were planning to release the update this weekend, but it will most likely be out on Monday or Tuesday. We just need our coder to get better first.

To be honest, this update turned out to be one of the most challenging -not so much because of the environment and animations, but due to all the technical issues. After upgrading the PC, we had to redo a lot of stuff literally from scratch. (If you can, don't rely on 2015 software in 2025. Lesson learned.)

For instance, we had to recreate the main menu and special thanks templates. It wasn't impossible but frustrating nonetheless.

Besides, after a major update, the software we use stopped working properly with the old scripts that used to make our lives so much easier... All in all, October was a difficult month: we had to reinvent a lot of stuff and adapt to new conditions. We hope that there will be no more such difficulties going forward, and we'll bring you the next update ASAP.

Reading your post, I sooo understand how you feel. The same happens to me also. I now take scrupulous notes (and then forget where they are πŸ˜‚). Pirot King has some great tools for making this game, and it was WAY ahead of it's time. I should actually look more closely as to how it is made. I do know they use RenPy 7.8.8 which is now, pretty ancient, but if they change, all the saves will be broken.

Yeah. As a person who works with legacy software a lot. Welcome to the grind. You want to create scripts and tools that you are used to get your productivity up but as soon as they become obsolete or incompatible you have to redo it all, or worse: you forget how you did it the first time"... πŸ˜‚. Whats your entire toolkit like, guys? I think it's a renpy based game right? But what do you guys do for animations or UI design for the screens or story boarding? And the *split screens* for when a love or dominations path is offered? I'm curious because I love your style, especially when you were doing the rin and lin dreams with the gradient scale etc. Y'all are talented not just in the story but in artistic flare and I'm curious what tools you guys use because I've been trying to get inspired to build my own silly AVN outside of my work environment (I'm a software engineer) but every time I start, I get decision paralysis and end up stuck trying to pick any tool and then my ADHD kicks in and I forget to do anything
