Hello Dungeoneers!
This post will cover quite a bit of ground, so forgive us if this message is a bit wordy. It's all important stuff, so please give the whole thing a read.
We want you all to know that we have been listening, reflecting and reviewing the last few days since our announcement of the Raijin Social Share Goal.
Our intent with setting up the Social Share Goal was to provide a fun, interactive way to offer a really cool model at no additional cost to patrons--a gift to our community as thanks for doing us a big favor and sharing our work with others. Unfortunately our communication of the goal, the way we chose to tease the sculpt, and our subsequent response did not land with many in the group as we had hoped.
To be clear, we want to do more Social Share Goals in the future as we think it can be really fun and rewarding. However, communication around future events will be more substantial and no longer kept as a surprise. We can see how that may have appeared to some from the outside, despite innocent intentions.
To address criticism of our stated goal of growing the Patreon: growth ultimately benefits our patrons. By growing our Patreon community, it allows us to do more with the added budget. Sculpt more, draw more, design more, etc. In no way do we not appreciate those of you who are here every month and those of you that stop by when you can. We have a vision for BAM in the future that would provide each of you even more content value for your $9 pledge if we can hit certain thresholds, a bit of which we'll touch on in the remainder of this post.
For transparency, the Social Goal for this month was not met, but you all certainly put up a strong response regardless! With that said, we have decided to give you all Raijin and Fujin as a thank you for your continued support and understanding as we fumbled this first event. π
We will add them to My Mini Factory before Friday and send a redemption email promptly. Thank you all!
We were waiting to announce this at a later date, but many of you have had questions regarding the effect the launch of Rivenstone might have on BAM. We figure now is as good a time as any to tell you a bit about Broken Anvil Battle Arena*, a game built specifically for our patrons that we've been working on in the background.
Broken Anvil Battle Arena utilizes select Patreon models from previous releases, and will utilize 2 models minimum from each future monthly release after the game goes live for distribution online. The game will be free to our patrons, and any playable model from prior months will also be provided as a bundle pack for new/returning patrons who might have missed out on them at no additional cost.
Please note this game is not related to Rivenstone, but rather its own unique experience. Broken Anvil Battle Arena is a mechanically distinct 2-Player Hex-Based Arena Battler featuring 2-4 Heroes per side. All you'll need to play is d6's, a hex map (provided as a PDF and eventually as STL tiles), a set of chosen models and their character stat sheets.
We'll update you when we have a release date finalized and more visuals to share. We are having a lot of fun play testing it, and we think you all will love it too!
*NOTE: Broken Anvil Battle Arena is a working title only, and it is subject to change!
In line with our goal of providing resin versions of a limited portion of our Patreon content in the future, we have decided to officially and permanently close Merchant Tiers to new subscribers. Additionally, any spots that are relinquished by currently active Merchants will permanently close as well.
We hope that the newfound limited nature of these Merchant Tier spots will make our current Merchant subscribers very excited. You are now the only individuals who will ever hold a license to sell prints of BAM's work, including content for the new BAM Battle Arena game now forthcoming.
In preparation for this new era of BAM, we are creating a formal Merchant registration program with updated T's&C's meant to better communicate our expectations of our licensors as well as outline our commitments to your success going forward. We'll be collecting some basic information about your business, web addresses, social media accounts, etc, and providing you a unique BAM account ID#. We hope it will help strengthen our relationships and lead to benefit for all involved.
Please expect to receive your Merchant packet via email in mid-June! Of course, if you have any urgent questions about the changes to the program, please DM us for assistance.
In our pursuit of constant improvement, we have decided to change things up a little in how we structure our releases. Our new monthly release template will look like the following, starting in August:
5 x Thematic Heroes (Heroes based on the theme of the month)
4 x Adventure Heroes (Hand-picked heroes of different fantasy races)
3 x 6-up Squads (could be ranged, melee, magic, etc.)
2 x Mounted Models
1 x Beast or other Large Model
6 x Pieces of Terrain
That's a new total of 36 models minimum per month!
Our goal is to prepare the best quality models we can for you based on themes and genres that are more user friendly to TTRPGS, Wargames, etc.
We hope that these major announcements make you all as excited for what's to come as we are. We appreciate each and everyone of you and look forward to making more epically off beat miniatures for you to enjoy!
