Just a recommendation for both of you: If you haven't heard it you absolutely must check out West Of Eden by HMLTD. It's a ride of an album and my favorite of 2020, I still rock to it to this day. It has a wild mix of songs and sounds as well as topics and all of it is done incredibly well, it would be a great reaction. Keep up the good work.

hey, i don't mean to be the 'ummm actually' nerd but i thought you might find this interesting anyway. i've read that the the beatles, when they made sgt peppers, and after they decided to stop playing live, decided to do all sorts with cutting tape and playing things backwards and speeding it up and slowing it down and all that psychedelic jazz. i think thats one of the reasons their final project (let it be) was originally called 'get back', like they wanted to get back to playing rock n roll music where they could all record together at the same time, rather than doing all these super specific experimental recordings and putting it all together. anyway, lots of love from london!

I dunno - this one leaves me cold. I've never enjoyed large (7 piece type) bands - especially horns and violins and folksy jumbling. Nor that Nick Cave-type vocal styling. Great musicianship - appreciated. Just not enough for me though, overall. Feels like a lot of songs, searching for a decent tune, TBH. But I enjoyed the in-between conversation as always fellas! Btw the reference to Warhammer 40k is only in the track Chaos Space Marine (there is a character in the game with the same name as the track title). Isaac (vocalist) left the band due to anxiety and the weight of expectations on top of being uncomfortable performing his personal and emotional lyrics (i think this is also why his lyrics are often left pretty vague). Many of the lyrics on the album, while they definitely have multiple meanings behind them, are likely about him coming to terms with the fact that he has to leave everything behind. The concorde being an allegory for the band as well as an ex long-distance partner. I've heard Isaac is doing well mentally now which is great to hear.
