A day late, but here we are! Let's get to it!!

Rough Assets: We spent some time this-and-last week doing better sketches of the backgrounds for a few key scenes, which you can see attached! The perspectives are still a little off in places, but hopefully it's all stuff we'll have squared away by the time we move into lineart!
Unfortunately, we also realized that - with the way things are scripted now, we've got 10+ backgrounds to fully render for the first chapter! That's entirely too much, which leads me to...

Story: What's that they say about plans surviving first contact?
I realized over the weekend that the first draft of the game's story, while cohesive and satisfying, was moving the game in a direction entirely separate from where I wanted it to go. Trying to avoid any and all spoilers, I bit off more than I could chew, and let the scope creep away from me...
I've taken steps to shrink the story into something more achievable with the time I have on a weekly basis to work on this project, and though it's infinitely more manageable, it does mean some of the secondary characters are going to step a bit further into the background. They'll still have interactions, certainly, but they aren't going to have big fleshed out arcs like the two main-girls will. In time, you'll see why.

Coding: At this point, "coding" is mostly just renaming and remapping transitions to fit with the new story paths. Nothing major to report on this end!

That's probably enough update for now. We've still technically got Chapter 1 laid out in terms of story, so our current goal is still finalizing assets for the game. Once I've done the last two backgrounds' finished sketches, I'll finally get started on the lineart! Thanks for your continued support, I can't wait to have this game in your hands!!
