Chapter One and Patreon Update!

Hey all,
Coming at you guys with a video update on the state of Moontouched and a change to Patreon Payments.

For those of you who don't want to/can't watch, here's a short text summery!

Moontouched is not on hiatus! I've been working hard on the project to get it in your paws as soon as it's ready.

I've chosen to pause Patreon payments until Chapter One is ready to be released to you guys. I've made this decision to help with my own workflow and out of respect for the time and funding that you've all put in so far.

Payments will be paused for at least a month to ensure that everyone is given time off regardless of individual renewal dates.

Chapter One is completely funded. The music is payed for, the small amount of editing work that was done on the demo portion will soon be payed.

The asset list keeps growing! The more I put it all together in Renpy the more I'm finding things to add, and I want to put that stuff in, hence the longer development time.

I've had tremendous help from Reinhardt and Zakadi on the coding of some incredible features. The music for the chapter is finished and I can't wait for you all to hear it in game, the artist did an amazing job.

I plan to start being a bit more social now that the winter solitude vibes are yielding to warmer times.

Thank you all greatly for your support

Appreciate the status update bare minimum. Comparatively, most other fundable projects have highly skewed planning timelines, or they just don't. Keep up the hard work; stoked to read an entire chapter when it's ready.

I really appreciate the stance you have. You've got a strong moral sense to be willing to help support in that way. Similarly, I have my own moral stance to pause it when I feel it's what fair to everyone, hah. It won't be for long!

Thanks for the kind words Cobbs, unfortunately, chronic health stuff is just kind of the way of things for me, but pausing payments has definitely given me some peace of mind which will absolutely help make Moontouched be the best it can be!

I realize this might be a little controversial, but I wish creators wouldn't pause stuff during off months, just give a report. Part of the point of Patreon as a system is to help smooth out the ups and downs of output that comes with the creative field, and pausing removes the point and I hate it. Let me pay you for your work (or break) dammit!

Agreed, please allow yourself the time (and peace of mind!) to recuperate. We're here because we want to be. You've done incredible work so far - and will continue to do so, I'm sure - but it should never come at the cost of your own health.
