June Moontouched Update

Hey there! I've spent the last month like some kind of forest gremlin hard at work on Moontouched.

Unsurprisingly, I've underestimated the amount of time getting this fraction of a first chapter out would take. I'm humbled by the sheer scale of effort it takes to be a solo dev on a project of any size.

 I've taken some time to look over my outline for the upcoming demo and it's become clear to me that I'm going to have to scale some of it back to be able to get it into your paws in a reasonable amount of time.

The playable demo is looking like it will be ready for patrons sometime mid-July, so keep an eye out!

 Now, I would love to be able to take the stance of "it's ready when it's ready" but unfortunately that's a luxury that I can't afford at this time.

As it is now, I'm losing money on this project, which I expected would be the case before I started out. However, due to health issues and unforeseen setbacks, development has stretched on longer than I had initially planned for.

With all that in mind, I've decided to scale back the demo slightly to allow the opportunity to get something into your hands, and eventually out into the world. The hope would be that I'll be able to garner some interest and bolster the support a little. I'm not expecting to be making more from this project than what I was making doing commissions, at least not this early, but I'll need to try to be losing less if I want this project to be sustainable.

I plan on continuing to work on Moontouched regardless, it's really just a matter of how much of my time I'll be able to devote to it. It may be that once the demo is out I'll look into some kind of crowd funding campaign so that I could REALLY give this project all that I want it to have. I would love to be able to hire musicians and other artists to join in on it. Or perhaps it'll shake out to a slower pace where I split my time between commission work and development. We shall see what the moon brings our way.
