Ragnarök - Rendering Timelapse

Can we all collectively ignore the fact that I misspelt "Timelapse" in the title card....please...?
This video took over 8 hours to render and my soul can't do it again hah. Enjoy the timelapse and the tunes and let me know if you have any questions about the process.

Ragnarök - Rendering Timelapse

Hey Avery, so while imagining a piece I like to keep in mind the weight of the object interacting with the fur. In this case I imagined the braids to be rather dense in and of themselves, only made heavier by the gold adornments. From there I tried to give the fur underneath a sense of being compressed by the weight and also almost exploding out from underneath it. It's nice to play with tufts of hair or fur overlapping any kind of object pressing into it as well. Looking at photos of fluffy dogs or other animals in collars or harnesses is also a great way to build up a visual understanding of how the fur behaves. Then once you have that baked into mind you can just lean on your imagination for most of it!

How do you deal with fur interacting with other objects/characters, like Fenrir's braids around his shoulders here for example? It's really well done in this piece
