In the galaxy-spanning Directorate, being an augmented human is not a crime. But, by the way augmented humans, or augs, are treated by the Directorate, you would think they are criminals. While valued for their strength, intelligence, and musculature, they are often given the hardest, most dangerous, and most distasteful jobs and generally shunned by the regular human populace.

Which is why the massively muscular Gin-Sa enjoys the solitude of being a station manager on an insignificant, uncolonized, far-flung, rimward world named Dusk. It's a lonely job full of mindnumbingly boring routines. But, she likes the simple repetition and she loves her solitary life. She and the station's AI-manager, Juno, are the only two inhabitants on the entire planet.

But, that's about to change -- and not for the better.
