Welcome to the perpetually underfunded and overworked Threat Negation Agency, otherwise known as TNA. One of thousands of bureaus, agencies, services, councils, and departments that make up the galaxy-spanning Directorate, the TNA is tasked with identifying and neutralizing potentially destabilizing threats to the Directorate. Despite the fact that most potential threats turn out to be rumors, hoaxes, or pranks, for the agency's two employees, this is a full time job.

But, at least it's job.

For T-Rack and A-Krak are augmented humans, or augs. While they are always ready and willing to perform their duties as protectors of the Directorate and its citizens, being augs means they are treated like third-class citizens. The vast majority of augs are assigned the toughest, dirtiest, smelliest, most dangerous jobs in the Directorate. So, being assigned to a small, insignificant, mostly-forgotten agency stuffed into a storage closet somewhere in the massive bureaucracy that is the Directorate, is a dream job. With rotations filled with preparing and filing reports, monitoring transmissions, analyzing data feeds, examining logs and records from countless human-colonized planets spread across the galaxy, the work is mindnumbingly boring. But, it's better than sucking solid waste out of backed-up vacuum toilet lines.

So, when the agency receives a priority transmission about a potential threat, T-Rack and A-Krak spring into action (sort of).
