So, what's Next?

Hornstown Next has reached a playable version and we have dubbed it version 0.7

Patrons can access it right now from the patron/alpha access page on the website (https://hornstown.com/patron-content/ and https://hornstown.com/alpha-access/ respectively).

This was a momentous undertaking, a lot, lot worse than any of us initially thought. The version you are seeing is actually the fifth version of the game, the previous four were either incompatible with being played from a browser, incompatible with being played on a mobile device or both or just plain horrid looking or of a ginormous size. By the time it was finally put together we had no time left for meaningful testing.

But enough of that, let's talk about what you have now and what is still missing.

Good things:

- The game has a character creation screen, featuring everything from the original Hornstown and more.
- Technically the complete 3.5 Hornstown is included, even the not implemented things (which means that nothing will be left behind, every part of the game will be converted to the new format eventually)
- NPC artworks have been all updated, remade in a higher resolution to blend in with the environments more
- The game is managably small (around 1 GB altogether) and should run in web browsers and PCs. There is also an android version which lacks a zoom function and is not pleasant to play.
- your wardrobe at home should have all the currently available clothes already unlocked to make it easier to try them

Not so good things:

- the save-load system is not implemented yet
- HornyZ chat and dates are unavailable
- hair&beard styling, beards in general are missing (You can still get them they just won't show up on the avatar)
- tattoos and piercings are missing (like the hair and hairstyles, you can get them but you won't see them)
- peepshow management is not reachable
- some clothes are unavailable (you will see which ones)
- There are some game breaking bugs which cause a dead end

All in all this is pretty much an alpha version but I hope you have some fun with it over the holidays. As I said, every feature is in, they are just not put together yet. We are hoping that by the next update - 0.8 which comes out together with 3.8 of the PHP - we will have most missing things sorted out.
