Crimes and jail and drugs oh my...
Added 2018-03-26 17:26:56 +0000 UTC1.2 is live! It's a very complex and focused content containing several possible transformations, becoming an addict, being on the wrong side of the law and spending time in jail. You know, fun stuff!
Also I have finally managed to create a way to make saving the game to your disk possible. The only way I found was creating a browser extension.
It is currently available for Chrome but I am working on a Firefox version as well. Downloadable versions (ironically enough) are still not supported.
This system still uses your browser's cache so anything like private browsing or external programs which prevent your cache from being overwritten will still make it impossible to save. However with the extension you can download the saves your browser made and the import them again at a later time. After you have downloaded a save you can freely clear your cache or even your entire browser history it should be working again once you start the game next time and import your save from file.

Alltogether:
- 243 000 characters (about 48 000 words) of new content
- 16 new sexable NPCs
- 2 new jobs (criminal and drug dealer)
- 1 new outfit to wear
- 1 new place to live in - the Hornstown Jail
- 1 new skill - larceny - used for illegal activities
- Save to file is now possible with the use of a browser extension
- Terry a new player created NPC is now available
Crime and Punishment
Illegal activities are now possible in the city, mall and red light district locations
- You can increase your larceny skill by successfully doing illegal activities. The higher your skill the more activities become available
- Currently possible are shoplifting, purse snatching, pickpocketing, being a con man, breaking into cars and blackmailing people
- Your larceny skill and the skill relevant to the activity increases the rewards you get and decreases the chances of getting caught
- You can also attract police attention with several previously introduced actions.
- If you get caught you have a money based and a few kinky ways to get out of your predicament otherwise you will have to go to jail
- The jail is a separate location with its own NPCs, activities and events. Find your place in the hierarchy either at the top or the bottom and find ways to decrease your sentence (or to increase it)
Drugs galore (voted in by the community)
Mickie, a new NPC found in the city will be more than happy to supply you with a few pills
- 6 different types of drugs to get all with an immediate effect and an eventual transformative side effect.
- Taking drugs repeatedly will help you differentiate between them and to pick or avoid the ones you want
- Taking them repeatedly will also make you addicted. It has several consequences...
- If you have the money you can buy a drug stash and start your own business making huge profit - or getting caught and sent to jail if you are not careful.

2018-03-29 14:59:18 +0000 UTCHi! 1.: The crossdressing script is outdated and doesn't take into account some of the newer outfits or if you change into them somewhere else than your own home. I will fix thisin the next update. Until then, try changing into women's (or men's) clothing on the clothe changing screen and then changing back. 2.: The sex change challenge means changing your sex not your gender. You need to get a vagina to get it. :) 3.: This seems like a bigger problem. Can you tell me: what changes are happening to you and where do you live (own home, prison, mrs. spencer etc.)?

2018-03-28 09:04:10 +0000 UTCI'm having trouble earning app points for crossdressing or for changing sex. Is there more to it than simply wearing women's clothing or changing sex in your own info screen? I've also run into an issue where, after being addicted to drugs, the game thinks that I'm still using the drugs even though I haven't taken any for that day. So the drug dealer won't sell me any more because he thinks I'm still high, and then when I go to sleep, more transformations happen even though I haven't taken any. Not sure what could've triggered this.

The Harlowe story format doesn't have a documented Javascript API and it has been deliberately designed by it's developer to restrict the access a story Author has to the internal data & functionality of it's Javascript based engine. I wish I had known this before I started creating the game in it but I didn't do my homework and now it is too late. If you are still interested, drop me an e-mail and we can work out the details!

2018-03-27 13:58:25 +0000 UTCI have tried it out and for me chrome runs at the same speed as firefox. I do have a quite powerful PC though. I don't really have any solid advice apart from the basics: if you don't have a lot of RAM availible try not to run too many other programs while playing and so on. Could you give me your system specs? Also is anyone else having this problem?

2018-03-26 22:18:28 +0000 UTCHey. I can help you out to write a bit of javascript to enable Save to disk and load from disk (without needing a browser extension) if you want. It shouldn't require anything beyond saving your localstorage to a file and loading that file to localstorage, right?

2018-03-26 18:34:50 +0000 UTCDo you have any tips for getting the game to run faster? In Chrome, it takes about 3 seconds every time you click on a link, for the next page to load up. This makes the whole thing feel rather sluggish, and makes getting through old content to get to new content quite frustrating. Is there any way of getting it to run quicker?
