A milestone!

We have reached 1.0. When I started this tiny little project more than half a year ago I would never have guessed how quickly this project will grow nor how big it is going to get.

Hard Times in Hornstown - with its new name and swanky finished status has more written words than the Lord of the Ring books (and definitely a lot more naughty words) and it is the single biggest project I have ever worked on.

The reason this was possible is due to the patrons who have supported it through its development. This game could have never been successful with traditional distribution and mainstream media and marketing channels would never acknowledge its existence. I am really, really happy that thanks to the Internet, Patreon and most of all you dear players a game like this can exist and bring an unusual type of fun into the lives of those who enjoy it.

So once again, thank you patrons and thank you players everywhere! I hope you continue to enjoy the creations of my twisted little mind!

The game will continue to develop and grow, I have a lot of ideas already set in motion about where to go from here. There is some information below about this but first of all let's see the important bits: what does the update contain?

Alltogether:

- 365 000 characters (about 73 000 words) of new content
- 13 new sexable NPCs
- 2 new jobs (variations of the prostitution storyline)
- 4 new outfits to wear
- a new ending
- a new feature (player-made NPCs)

NPC creation

$15 patrons can create their own NPCs to be put into the game. They can be encountered (and made sweet-sweet love to) by everyone after that when cruising in Extreme Circumstances.

- You can choose your NPCs appereance, attitude and add a custom description.
- You can decide which sexual acts your NPC is willing to perform.
- Others can meet and have sex with your NPC while in the club.

Whoring advanced (voted in by the community)

The prostitution storyline has been greatly expanded with many new features

- Earning money is a bit more difficult now that you will have a very persistent thug pestering you for money in exchange for "protection"
- Dealing with your own is a possibility but you also might seek other solutions
- Those who are willing to do everything for money and have no standards will find that Derek (as long as they met him at the gym) is more than happy to pimp them out and get more money this way - although this comes at a price. (This route includes several nasty situations involving watersports, extreme humiliation, facesitting, group sex, and genuinely weird sexual roleplay)
- Those who behave in a more classy way and refuse to let go of their standards (and those who manage to avoid the thug using their wits) will gain the opportunity to work for the mysterious ruler of the Red Light District. This route has you become a high class escort at the casino, trying to entice clients to spend more money there.
- Working as a high-class prostitute gives you the option to charm your way into the graces of a very special patron who might be tempted to offer you the opportunity of a lifetime...

And this is not all! Sometime during this week another more mechanical update will hit, containing these extra features:

- A new, offline downloadable version of the game.
- The ability to see all the images in the game in their original size.
- An option to save to disk so you won't lose progress when your browser acts up.

Aaand this is still not everything. I have a very big surprise for you guys which should also become available sometime later this week. It's something me and my partner have been working on ever since it became apparent that we will reach our 3k goal eventually. Now we have fallen a bit after January hit but I am confident we will sure reach it again and I don't want to wait any longer than necessary to announce it. It is really cool after all. :)
