Something special
Added 2017-12-29 10:30:54 +0000 UTCYesterday we reached our 3000 goal! Thank you all! I wanted to write something like this after the new year hits but since we reached it before...let's do this!
When we started getting close to the goal I began to make plans with a friend of mine who has been helping me with creating the images and integrating the CSS based stuff for Hornsville. He has been an immense amount of help, we wouldn't have the game as it is without him. As the 3k goal is all about the game's art we talked about different ways to integrate high resolution imagery and more complex, dynamic scenes into the game.
Twine is an excellent platform in many ways but it is hard to use when you want to do something it doesn't want you to do. Previously I have discussed it with you guys that we will eventually switch to a more stable system but due to the huge amount of content each update had I had no time to explore this juncture further. Now however we are getting close to version 1.0 and I feel there is time to take things to the next level.
And now I am going to be a huge asshole and won't share what exactly we are planning but it goes way further than simply getting a few more pictures in high resolution. There will be announcements once we actually have something to show you guys (expect it to hit mid-late January) and there will be plenty of separate announcements for version 1.0 things and the usual vote about the update.
Until then however, I wish to each and every one of you has a very happy new year! This project has become something far larger than I could have ever predicted and it is all thanks to you! I hope you will continue to have fun playing this game. I will certainly continue to enjoy creating it!
