Young Mikes & Vanessas (mini comic #341)

It’s been a bit since I’ve drawn the younger versions of the night guard crew, so I wanted to do a little comic about them then!

One request I got pretty regularly was having said younger versions actually interact with each other, seeing up until this point I more or less only had their adult versions interact with themselves, or comparing the two but never having them personally interact, etc so finally a comic of them talking one on one!

I wanted to start with young Vanny and Vanessa, AND, young Mike and Michael, interacting, seeing I think it’s a good introduction back into these designs, and also the DIFFERENCE between the two is pretty funny to me

Cause I can see Vanessa and Vanny would actually get along, they are both young gals with awful dads, so I think friendship is what they’d value most, both sound lonely at that age, I can see Vanessa finding Vanny’s whole scene look to be really cool, Vanessa always being more plain and formal, I wanna believe movie Vanessa also did dye her hair or at the very least wanted to. The two would be friends,,

NOW MIKE and Michael? Ehhh- BAHA okay hear me out here, we know for sure Michael was a bully, he was mean to other kids, including his own brother. We actually don’t know Mike was the same, BUT I think he was seeing in the movie Mike literally beats up a dad, Mike has a violent side to him, which I think could only come from being a past bully or troublemaker etc. Not only that Mike beats folks up to seemingly protect others, so A YOUNGER Mike would fight a young Michael because he was bullying his brother. And Michael being Michael would say something mean back to Mike. These two would NOT be buds when they were lil, least not right off the bat, they’d bump heads. The only reason they get along as adults is because both have overall chilled out BAHA

SO YEAH this was a lot of fun to draw out! Tbh I won’t lie, scene Vanny design is the main reason I wanted to do this comic, I just still love the look. I also know, people really wanted to see a young Michael and Vanny hanging out, so maybe I’ll do something with that concept in the future! Anyway!! I hope you enjoy this comic 🩵💜
